Enter the Anime (2019)
Sad
This is so bad. Instead of interviewing actual anime legends, she only interviews Netflix anime creators. The first two interviews of the documentary are to "dive into Japanese culture".....by interviewing American illustrators. Like what? This does absolutely nothing in helping people get to know more about anime. On top of these things, the entire documentary fails to materialize anything specific that makes anime stand out from other forms of cartoons. Overall this is just a money heap that Netflix likely branded as a documentary, when in fact it's just an advertisement for their own shows.
If you are a fan of anime, don't waste your time. If you're new to anime, don't waste your time.
American Horror Stories: Drive (2022)
Recycled season 1 garbage
Season 2 of this show was off to a pretty good start, so I had hopes the producers would learn their lesson from the critiques of season 1. This episode, however, rolls back to the same low budget vibe the first season gave off.
Acting was terrible, script was terrible. I hope this isn't a sign that season 2 is just going downhill from here.
RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars: Drag Race Gives Back Variety Extravaganza (2022)
Playing favorites
From the beginning of the episode, you could tell by the edit that Shae was getting to move on. Sure enough, despite the fact that she was the least winning queen this season, she took the spot from Jaeda for the finale.
Let's not even talk about the fact that only 3 queens displayed ACTUAL unique talents in the Talent Show, and not just a lip sync. Lip sync is something we see each week; a Talent Show should be based on a unique talent we haven't seen yet. Most of the queens just did a lip sync with auto tune to their own pre-recorded music. Nothing new or special.
Overall this episode was very disappointing.
If you ask me, the judges held back a lot of criticism this whole season. I get it that they're all polished queens and winners of their own accord, but they're still grown adults who can take some criticism. Every critique this season was so safe and nothing critical was said.
The Boys: The Instant White-Hot Wild (2022)
meh
Ehh...
I guess I had much higher expectations. For such a great series with such a strong season, the finale was lackluster. Something about it felt off and it didn't match the vibe or intensity of the rest of the season.
Stranger Things: Chapter Four: Dear Billy (2022)
Holy s*#%
This episode had me at the edge of my seat the whole way through, especially in the last 10 minutes. Hands down, best episode in the series, and one of the best episodes of anything in television history.
RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars: Draguation Speeches (2022)
Could have been much better
This would have been such a great episode on its own if it weren't for bringing in yet another corrupt politician to politicize things. The queens did an excellent job this week, and should have stayed the spotlight. Pelosi ruined the episode.
Dark Side of the Ring: The Life and Crimes of New Jack (2020)
Why did this degenerate get a spotlight?
This was one vile human being that should not be celebrated by having been the star of this episode. Why are we glorifying his disgusting actions? Poor taste, even for "dark side"
American Horror Stories: Game Over (2021)
...wat
Nothing makes sense about this episode. At the end, we're supposed to believe the house burned down in the game, and mom didn't die and go through everything; instead she finished the game.
But if the house didn't burn down, how did Beau's ball roll inside her home in the final scene? His spirit would still be trapped in the house.
Unless we're supposed to deduce that mom did die and the house was burned down. But then why was she able to carry on life as normal and finish the video game?
Nothing makes sense. This episode was an atrocity. This whole series was an embarrassment on Murphy's record.
American Horror Stories: Ba'al (2021)
Finally
Thank the lordt almighty that there's finally an episode worth watching. Billie Lourd saves the series from going down as Murphy's worst-ever creation. There's a solid story, a great script and great acting, unlike the other episodes so far. If you don't watch any of the prior episodes, at least watch this one. Fortunately, each episode is it's own story so you don't need to waste your time on the others to watch this installment.
