Lost: The End: Part 1 (2010)
just made me angry
Easily the worst episode of the whole series. The on island activity is incredibly cheesy (one part looks like it is out of 300) and there an incredible amount of plot holes.
Literally nothing is explained in this episode and it seems that the writers couldn't explain such things as the island moving and the numbers and Walt, who played a central part in the first 2 series makes no appearance at all.
Parts of the episode are okay, such as when in the flash-sideways, they start to remember, but this is ruined by what i consider to be a pointless ending filled with many plot holes
Avatar (2009)
Average...just
For starters, do not bother watching this film in 3D if you plan to watch it. That turned out to be a waste of money as you could see no difference and nothing came at you like in other 3D films. You just didn't really feel that you were in the movie
Good points of the movie- 1. Special effects are fantastic and will most likely win an Oscar in this category
2. The concept of the whole planet, indigenous lifeforms and human technology of the film is fantastic and the reason i went to see the film
3. Stephen Lang and Giovanni Ribisi's performances
Poor points of the movie- 1. The storyline is terrible. Precitable, terrible love story and cheesy in many bits. Even the dialogue is terrible with really awful one-liners such as "come get some!!"
2. Much of the acting and characters are wooden and stereotypical
3. Much of the action is ruined by some awful cheesy bits. Do not expect a battle as epic as Lord of the Rings
4. The length. the film does drag quite a bit and i was waiting for it to finish
The Plot-
Jake Sully, a paraplegic marine is called up to replace his deceased brother on a special mission for a corporation on a planet called Pandora. The corporations reason for being there is to mine a rare and valuable substance from the planet. However an indigenous species lives on the richest source of this mineral. Because of this, an Avatar program is set up, where chosen mens minds are downloaded to a new body, the body of this indigenous life form, in an attempt to communicate and negotiate. Jake sully is chosen for this program, replacing his brother, but while the other people chosen are trying to find a peaceful solution, Sully is feeding information to the military aspect of the corporation who want to remove the inhabitants aggressively.
Im a big sci-fi fan and was excited by this concept but from here the story began to dwindle. Overall a very long, watchable but average film
