Khuda Kay Liye (2007)
Good, but could have been better
Quite relevant to our current predicament, but the story should have depicted more than just the extreme ends of the Pakistani society spectrum. I was expecting more from the likes of Shoaib Mansoor, but considering the usual crap that rolls out of Lollywood it's a fairly good watch and might actually be the start of the revolution in Pakistani cinema that some are excited about. The sound track is excellent and fits well with the screenplay. Acting wise, Iman Ali and Rasheed Naz are impressive. The editing however is poor and the almost 2.5 hours can be felt. The ending is abrupt and a bit of a disappointment, but the movie still warrants a watch if just to gain insight into the tensions within our very complex society and it's conflict within and with the west.
