Pink (III) (2016)

Excellent Indian Modern Masterpiece!
21 September 2016
Today I watched Pink in Inox and found the movie very thought provoking and scratches the mind.

Movie is quite balanced, characterizations are excellent, background score is superb, direction is to the point, no unnecessary backdrops and side tracks kept movie tight and gripping. (y) I just wanted Amitabh Bachchan's character (bipolar) explained more in depth. Apart from that, Piyush Mishra's performance is remarkable and appreciated. They really argued professionally without personal vengeance. Movie is modern masterpiece and it explores so many dark sides of our educated people, wrong mentality towards working women who stays alone or without family in big cities.

One more thing at last... Taali ek haath se nahi bajti! It takes two to quarrel. Ultimately a great experience and engaging 2.15 hours. That's all for now.

One of the worst comedies I have ever seen!
18 September 2015
First of all, what the f**k was this? I found 8.2 rating on IMDb and movie totally sucks! I am still wondering what made people liking this movie so much? Plot was totally stupid and very much ordinary without any extraordinary element or one-liners, funny scenes, acting, or even photography. This was way too boring and pointless movie to me and it got 8.2 rating? :) Are you kidding me? I think even 3 stars are higher for this boring, jarring, pointless, stupid, silly, worthless, waste-of-time, mind-sucking movie. From the first scene to last scene, I have watched it and thought now there would be something now there would be something but no, at the end, credits started rolling and I simply threw the movie out of my collection. I think I should stop believing IMDb rating as there are movies with 4, 5 or 6 ratings and they are wonderful whereas this got 8.2 stars and movie? Cut it off.

Ted 2 (2015)
4/10
Not as expected and definitely not up to the marks of TED!
24 August 2015
So last night finally I have seen this flick and except few scenes, I didn't find it much appreciable and good. Honestly TED set my expectations so high so I was eagerly waiting for TED 2 and finally when I saw it, I found no thrill and nothing similar to TED. I know every sequences and next parts can not be same as earlier one but this was not deserving for an applause.

Those who liked this movie, good for them! I didn't like it personally so just came here to warn those guys who loved TED and set their expectations so high for TED 2.

It could be better with some logic and more depth into the characterization. Chemistry between thunder buddies was not as it was in TED.

Many other things are lacking but I don't want to discuss anymore. I have already wasted my 2 hours behind this movie. :)

Too good to be a Hindi suspense thriller. Thoroughly enjoyed this underrated icon.
19 April 2015
Today I watched this movie and hats off to the all caste and crew of this movie. It's gripping from the very first frame and did not waste a single second of it's length. I really enjoyed this movie being a mostly foreign movies watcher and I couldn't understand why this movie got no big stand and exposure. It's a truly suspense thriller of a class.

Kay Kay Menon rocks as usual and he's in his full form. Ashish Vidyarthi also did well and Tisca Chopra done well in her role. In short, every character was excellently written and directed. Manish Gupta really needs a big round of applause for making such underrated icon.

It's a strong suspense movie so I don't want to write anything else... just watch anyhow you can get it. That is all.

How boring! Plus it's very poorly executed by Mr Sohail Khan
28 January 2014
First of all, from the very beginning of the movie, it failed to impress an intelligent viewer. I remembered Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya movie while watching this one. I do not know how Sohail directed Maine Pyar Kyu Kiya? better? That movie was still watchable but I have found that Sohail does not know how to direct a movie exactly.

Story idea was good and I am sure the original Stalin (2006) Telugu movie was way better than this. Salmanbhai should do something new now. Very honestly this movie failed to impress me and I did not enjoy it at all and can you believe? I left watching the movie only after 30-40 minutes.

Well, if you are a big fan of mindless action and want to watch it only for Salman, go for it otherwise there is no need to waste your time and money. After all... mehangai badh gai hai aur movie tickets ke daam bhi kaafi hai so do not waste your money.

Horror Story (I) (2013)

Finally India got a real horror flick
13 December 2013
I have watched this movie just now and I have to say I am quite impressed with it's premises and direction. I do not want to write about star caste as all are newcomers and this movie has nothing to do with star caste in fact. I loved the grip, pace, and direction with sound effects and there are quite shocking scenes and moments.

I know this movie must be copied from some Hollywood flick but who cares? I have not seen the original and I watch a lot of foreign horror movies so I can say yes this is India's good show.

This movie is much better than any other previous horror flicks of India and I recommend this to watch.

Total waste of time and...
5 September 2013
I watched this flick last night and I was completely disappointed. I expected some chilling, gripping, and scarier moments but I was constantly bored till more than half of the movie. Before this movie, I watched MAMA and I was very much happy. I got scary thrills and twists in that movie whereas this movie is total waste of time. There are a lot of loopholes and indigestible scenes in this movie. I do not know how it is 6+ on IMDb. I will not recommend this movie, that is all. I was happy with some latest horror flicks but not this one. Ethan Hawke is wasted and no proper plot built-up was there. Even I could not understand what they wanted to show in the movie.

Ultimately, don't waste your time and watch MAMA instead of this.

Hilarious, outstanding comedy, and all ingredients added!
31 July 2013
Hey fellows, this flick is a laughter riot and I an wondering why only 5 stars? This is too bad, huh. This movie deserves more than that. It contains hell lot of comedy, action, music, dance, and thrill as well. I loved the content and it's not less. People should not do injustice to such movie in which you can find every ingredient for entertainment. I thoroughly enjoyed it & I would recommend if anyone missed it. Both brothers had done well and it's so much interesting from the beginning to end and I've given it 8 points out of 10. Why would not you go for a movie which gives you 100 per cent return of your money? I love it love it love.

This is a highly underrated movie of Indian film industry
29 July 2013
I have seen this movie few days back and believe me, I had least expectation with this movie and I was very satisfied and thought provoked after watching this flick.

It shows bitter reality and above all, it's flow was very smooth and not a single moment, this movie was boring. I thoroughly enjoyed it and not only enjoyed but really felt each story.

Really, the director of this movie is a brave man but I know as it was a low budget movie with unknown faces, no one cared to see it. Even the people who claims that they loves different type of movies gave very low response to this movie & I am sad about it.

Do not go on star caste, do not go on budget, and do not go on publicity as publicity sucks in many cases. Just see this movie once and you will not curse me for that.

Khiladi 786 (2012)

Total waste of time & money
18 December 2012
Tremendously boring, jarring, irritating, & non sense movie this is! I don't know what makes Akshay Kumar do such films? I don't think actor of his caliber needs such rubbish, pointless, & totally stupid movie, he's playing with his image for sure. Even Rowdy Rathore was complete waste & mindless movie.

Khiladi 786 is very much mindless & silly movie. One thing is sure that now onwards I'm not going to see Akshay Kumar's movies if this is what he wants to do now! Most of fights are completely unreal & unimpressive. No good comedy & very very poor silly jokes by non-actor Himesh Reshamiya. Akshay has no such bad days... you're still an actor if you forgot that.

I know this became a flop to average movie already but in future, I hope no such movie will be made with Akshay Kumar.

Total waste of time & money
20 November 2012
First of all, by which angle or which means this movie is called a masterpiece by so-called critics? Only money talks, huh? I'm highly disappointed by last movie of Yash Chopra who gave masterpieces in past. Calling this movie a masterpiece would be a great offense to all his previous gems. Silsila, Lamhe, Chandni, DDLJ, Dil To Pagal Hai, and Veer-Zara could be called masterpieces (I didn't like Veer-Zara personally but now I can say that it was way better than this so-called romantic (with matured & old actors) saga (ha ha!).

There are many glitches & loopholes in this movie & even discussing them would be a waste of time same as the movie so I am avoiding it. My simple advise about this movie in 3 words is as under: avoid this movie, that's all!

Ek Tha Tiger (2012)
8/10
It's an awesome blossom movie & I loved it!!!
23 August 2012
Hi, I believe in quality of movies & I enjoy various types of movies. Earlier I thought that I would not watch this movie EK THA TIGER (now I am happy that I've seen it) because of promos & not-so-nice-music but while watching movie I didn't know when it's about to over, I wished it could run some more & I would see some next chase, next action sequence, & some next twist in the movie. Ultimately it's a pure entertainer & believe me, it's not a non sense flick. Action, dialogs, direction, & above all, photography of this movie is really appreciable & hats off to Kabeer Khan (director) and Salman Khan (the actor).

I enjoyed it from 1st frame to last frame & never felt bored, irritated, overwhelming, & awful. It's AWESOME movie & those who likes fast paced action flicks they'll enjoy this movie.

I don't know much about rating system & I don't go on critics as well but all I can say is this is worth your every penny & every minute.

This movie has already broken various records on box office & it's rocking. Salman Khan finally became Rajnikant (South Indian mega star) of Bollywood film industry. He gave 5 hit movies in the raw (WANTED, DABBANG, READY, BODYGUARD, & EK THA TIGER) and for producers he's like an ATM so hats off to my dearest Salmanbhai.

That's all guys, if you've not enjoyed this movie yet, don't listen to anyone who says it's a bad movie & enjoy it like me. :) I am happy with EK THA TIGER.

Funny Games (1997)

It's nothing but a slow & boring movie without any big action & game!!!
20 May 2012
This is highly over-rated movie as I found no any gory, gruesome images, & stunts in this movie. I just felt bored after 45% of the movie & found it very slow. The crying father scene was more than loud & lengthy... you should cut the crap, director. I thought there'll be some new games, fun, & horror in this movie but nothing... just nothing I got from this movie so I would not recommend it to horror lovers.

Definitely those two guys are impressive in way of their acting... specially fatty who is more into his character. The skinny guy was resembling to Antonio Banderas. Ultimately, this is waste of time & nothing to talk about. Watch only if you've 2 hours to kill otherwise there are better masterpieces.

3/10.

Rock On!! (2008)
10/10
ROCK ON touched my HEART... Watch this movie with heart full of friendship and eyes wet with emotions
31 August 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Four friends share a common passion for music and form a rock band called Magik. Aditya (Farhan Akhtar) is the lead vocalist, Joe (Arjun Rampal) is the guitarist, KD (Purab Kohli) is the drummer and Rob (Luke Kenny) handles the keyboard. They get a chance to cut out an album but things don't work out and the group splits to go their separate ways.

A decade later Aditya's wife Sakshi (Prachi Desai) attempts to reunite the group. After some initial hiccups and ego clashes, the band members bond and blend to brew good tunes. Predictably the climax is set in a rock concert where the band performs to perfection.

Despite such patented predictability, one still relates to Rock On. You noticeably know that Arjun Rampal would make a late entry in the climax concert but your heart still goes out on his appearance. You aren't surprised when one of the band members is diagnosed of cancer but you still feel for him. That's because the simplicity and sincerity of the direction and performances touch you.

The storytelling is somewhat slow and drags in the preliminary portions. The film gets into frequent flashback episodes and at times you are caught unaware on the instance where it ends. Even the back-story takes a tad bit long to reach to the point where the band disperses. Unimaginatively the screenplay uses the same scheme of a rock concert for its first key plot-point and also the climax. But seemingly that was inevitable since the genre of the film restricts its creative scope. Also Farhan Akhtar's breakup with his girlfriend doesn't come across quite convincingly.

On the upside, the musical theme of the film is ably supported by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's rocking score. For once you don't feel that songs are forced in a Bollywood film. There's also a splendid spoof on how the band merges rock with dandiya to gain some quick money. How one wishes the film had more of such lighter moments which would have accentuated the youthful appeal to Dil Chahta Hai extents. The director also manages to pull off a subtle satire on Anu Malik, while casting him at his own expense.

Rock On seems to be clearly designed by Farhan Akhar as his own acting debut and he doesn't let himself down. Lending voice to all his songs helps him to get into his character with effortless ease. One could certainly overlook the lisp in his dialogue delivery. Arjun Rampal looks mature in his character but isn't quite credible while handling the guitar. Purab Kohli has a natural flair for comedy and Luke Kenny is persuasive in his role. From the female leads Shahana Goswami as Arjun's wife comes up with the most compelling act and adds some depth to the drama. Prachi Desai justifies her poised presence.

It's interesting how director Abhishek Kapoor attempts to make commercial entertainers on subjects that are not much prevalent in our country. His last film Aryan was on boxing, a sport not much popular in India and now he tries his hands on rock culture, which again isn't much recognized here. At least this time he succeeds in creating a realistic rock feel.

Rock On strikes a chord on that note.

Purely Entertainer and Enjoyable Movie
10 August 2008
I really enjoyed this movie last night in Adlabs, Ahmedabad and thoroughly I was engaged in viewing every frame, every punch-line and every one-liner... I enjoyed it totally and I laughed out loudly in many scenes so in my view this movie is not bad and who wrote BAD about this movie was certainly in not a good mood while watching movie.

There are many good scenes and sequences in movie which even touched my heart... i.e. that poor black family of 7 members where the only person was there to fill their empty stomach (hotdog, burger black guy) in front of 2 restaurants. Javed Jaffrey's comic timing and Yashpal Sharma's sad mood acting was also hilarious and above all Sonu Sud really looks like young Amitabh OF '70s. I like photography, background score and too good acting from too many good actors together.

So my review is totally positive about this movie and u can enjoy it if u watch this movie by heart not by mind.

Black Friday (2004)
10/10
Hats-off to such a brilliant film-making in current film industry
11 February 2008
I just watched Black Friday last night at home and didn't feel like missing a single scene or even a shot of the movie. I was totally concentrated and lost in this movie. I felt how a genuine, appreciable and real effort can go wasted on box office. Such movies should run well even on box office as well as in award functions.

Kay Kay Menon is one of my favorite actor as well as Pavan Malhotra in his intense role playing. Hats off again to this movie from 1st scene to last one. The sequence of Badshah Khan moving Rampur to Jaipur to Kolkata and back to Rampur is truly worth-watching. I know this movie didn't mean to earn profits or a MASALA FLICK that's why it became a serious cinema and worth watching.

Anurag Kashyap has really done a brilliant and hard-hitting job. I wanted to see this movie from the moment I came to knowledge about it. I really enjoyed every moment though I found there were many censor cuts during the movie and BEEP tones during bad words speaking. Anurag made it hardcore real.

I am not here to reveal or tell the story as it will spoil concentration and excitement of the watchers who didn't watch this movie yet. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND BY BEING A REAL MOVIE-WATCHER TO SEE THIS MOVIE ANY WAY YOU CAN GET IT.

I learned that because of politicians' dirty plays, games and just because of their selfishness such incidences happens frequently in our country and which interrupts India to move further progressively. Such degressing tact, cheats and bad intentions of our politicians ruins peace between 2 religions and whatever they do they do just for their own benefit. How many innocent people were killed during such riots and blasts that's nightmarish thought and DID THIS POLITICIANS EVER THINK ABOUT THEIR INNOCENT FAMILIES WHILE PLANNING SUCH THINGS? My anger is purely towards THE POLITICIANS not to any Hindu or Muslim. Now our young generation must come up with their new ideas, intelligence and unity to fail such bad and dishonest intentions of Indian POLITICIANS.

BLACK Friday is most worth watching that's all.

Hats off to Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar
12 October 2007
1st of all hats off to Priyansahab for making such a movie even though it is not original script. Have I seen Kannada or Malayalam version of this movie? NO... then why should I suffer from original or remake issue? 2nd thing I appreciated most is cinematography and art direction thoroughly in every frame of the movie. 3rd thing gripping direction and very much interesting, suspense and thrilling story-line and script by Neeraj Vora. Hats off again.

I just watched it in last show yesterday and in spite of absence of Akshay Kumar for 45 mins. hardly I felt boring in few minutes but I got returns of those minutes in 2nd half which was damn damn damn interesting, gripping and psychological in last 30 mins.

In short, I loved this movie so much and it is purely an entertainer and shown us great depth of human psychology and gave a hidden message to stay away from blind faith related to ghost and witches.

I admire Bhool Bhulaiya

Excellent, Brilliant, Realistic and Technically very sound movie
15 January 2007
After watching Guru I would like to comment that such movies are rare and I don't know why but in between watching movie and after watching it completely I compared it partially with Mani Ratnam's own movie Nayakan with Kamal Hassan only by way of PERFORMANCE. Mani knows how to explore a character deeply and serious movie watcher understands it well. Hats off to Abhishek as its HIS THE BEST MOVIE till date. Another man in the movie is Mithun Chakravarty as I've seen him after a very very long time in a totally different and unimaginable shade and character. His role is tailor made. Above all movie could be some better but whatever it is... ITS BEST in present movies.

The Godfather (1972)

Simply the great cold-blooded definite movie
3 December 2006
I just want to say it's one of the best movies from Hollywood and I loved it thoroughly... the style, cinematic effects, characterizations and above all dialogs of the movie touched my heart... character of Al Pacino is simply tailor-made for him. James Cann also performed at his best. Background score of the movie is truly appreciable. Camera work and editing is superb. Winning 3 Oscards is too natural thing for The Godfather. This is my first comment in this site and I hope it will be useful for other users... I love to see this movie again and again and it's like a text-book to film industry whether it's Hollywood or bollywood.
