Percy Jackson and the Olympians (2023)
I'm Actually Impressed
Firstly, this show rekindled the nostalgic fantasy fiction vibe from my childhood, and even at 20, I appreciate its mature approach without losing its charm. Walker Scobell shines as Percy, capturing the youthful yet troubled, loyal facets of the character impeccably. The portrayal of side characters, especially Grover, Annabeth, and Luke, stood out for me, offering a nuanced and authentic touch. The characters feel refreshingly new while staying true to their book counterparts. A standout moment, notably in episode two during the capture the flag scene, where Percy is claimed as Poseidon's son, became my favorite.
Gen V (2023)
An Unexpected Gem: 'Genv' - A Fresh Take on 'The Boys' Universe
I hadn't watched 'The Boys' before diving into 'Genv,' but this show piqued my interest and eventually led me to explore 'The Boys' as well. I've noticed that many die-hard fans of the original series may not find 'Genv' quite to their liking, which is understandable, given their love for the originals. However, this doesn't diminish the appeal of 'Genv' for the broader audience.
With just three episodes released, it's premature to pass harsh judgments. It's essential to understand that 'Genv' isn't a reboot but a spin-off, carving its path as a distinct entity while maintaining connections to 'The Boys' for fans. The characters and the college theme immediately captured my interest, and I'm eagerly looking forward to future episodes.
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (2023)
A heartfelt masterpiece!
I didn't think this series would bring the same energy as the earlier seasons, but boy was I wrong. This series nailed it by making it feel like a season of bridgerton with a more mature timeless vibe.
The new aged actors in this series were quite impressive. Most notably the actors who played the butlers, Queen Charlotte, King George, and Lady Danbury. They all played their roles like it was their last, which is quite impressive for their first big roles.
If you are looking at reviews and haven't watched the show yet, I'd suggest you watch it! It is a quick watch that ends on an heartwarming note.
Overall, I found myself on an emotional rollercoaster of both laughter & sobs!
Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin (2022)
much more slasher/horror vibes then mysterious vibes like pll.
I decided to watch original sin without the mindset of "it's going to be exactly like pll" and it really helped me enjoy it. If I were to describe it I would say a mix between ahs, the original pll, and I do get little hints of riverdale, but not in a bad way. My favorite characters are Imogen, Tabby, & Noa.
The Flash: The One with the Nineties (2021)
Loved it
I don't understand why people are slandering iris in the reviews, I thought she was/looked great. I can't stand how people always seem to throw all the hate on her when she was barely in the episode. Anyways, I enjoyed it and loved the theme, peace!
The Flash: Growing Pains (2021)
a mess
This show is turning into absolute garbage. Cisco's plotlines are way more entertaining than frost & caitlin's alone. I would've rather seen a cisco-centric. If not that, hmm let me think.. how about we make the episode about the actual main character, BARRY. This dude barely has gotten screen time. The only reason I still stick around is because of the potential pregnancy/bart coming in.
