Suits: To Trouble (2016)
Poorly written
Ok so this episode is dumb. Trust no one is like a prison motto & even though Mike didn't come from the streets he should have enough smarts to know to keep his head down and his mouth shut.
The show's creators and writers should know better than to insult the intelligence of the audience. I've binged 5 seasons & it is a repetition of revolving bad guys and Litt screwing up, then redemption and screwing up again and then getting another chance - it really shouldn't be an episode that sucks this bad. I'm going to find this shows arc painful. It's certainly going to get predictable with the firm hatching a plan to get Mike Ross out of prison. With him being a central character, the audience knows that this is what is going to happen at some stage in the season. I guess the choice is to bear with it. Or not finish the series or just skip the episodes until Mike is free. I may go with the latter.
Suits: Enough Is Enough (2015)
Terrible and laughable
As soon as Louis doesn't report the Firm & Mike he becomes part of the deceit. So going around like he's Billy Big B@lls is just laughable. Everyone else is worried once they know. It means real trouble if they get caught. Louis seems to have taken a big bunch of stupid pills and so have the shows writers. Have to say that I am currently watching the show some years after this episode aired. But come on writers this is lame.
Why doesn't anyone call his bluff? Hand him a phone to call the cops! Because this episode now has Louis locked into the lie, a named partner, a reward for joining in the deceit and if you had 2 brain cells to rub together you'd keep your mouth shut. Terrible take.
Big Sky: The End Has No End (2021)
Very weak episode
Spoiler
The audience is supposed to believe that Ronald is easily knocked out by Wolf the larger man. Yet when he had his back turned on Cassies Dad, he miraculously avoided a huge wrench coming at him with momentum and over powered a larger man.
Weak and feeble. Far fetched and unbelievable.
Also Ronald has gone to a lot of effort to steal a camper van and he likes his weapons are we supposed to believe that he wouldn't have picked up a weapon?
Even if he didn't know that Wolf was trying to track him down.
I don't know what was in the original books but the actor who plays Wolf is the actor I dislike the most.
This doesn't help me digest the content of the show.
Alongside having to suspend your belief in reality with some of these characters and their actions.
Yellowstone: Grass on the Streets and Weeds on the Rooftops (2022)
Lame
There is only one JR Ewing & it's not Beth. All these characters are emotionally stunted. John is a terrible father. Beth is FUBAR. Jaime is the victim of neglect & Kasey, the only shining light has a terrible needy wife and a whiny son that's developing a foul mouth.
Not sure if Sheridan had a bad childhood upbringing but this family is beyond dysfunctional and no amount of therapy could fix them. It's a real shame because there should have been so much progression and development.
Beth walked so close to the actual edge it would have been easy to give her a little push or at least her phone.
As for Beth not being able to produce offspring... blessing in disguise?
Yellowstone: No Good Horses (2018)
Debating whether to stick with it...
John Dutton is kind of JR Ewing & the family are a bit Dallas. Daughter is a B. Possibly a version on a biblical Eve. The original sinner. Sons are nice & kind. One is a hero. Other one is always trying to appease a Father that will never be happy no matter what he does.
There are cowboys & henchmen.
Dirty deals & dirty dealings and the Ewing clan at war with indigenous people. Sex, drugs and no rock and roll but horses!
Have we seen this TV formula before? Yes we have. I don't expect the Duttons to get their acts together and I am not sure how much longer I will invest in this show. Maybe it will turn a corner.
Longmire: Continual Soiree (2016)
Walts obsessed
Sick to back chops of Walt's obsession with Nighthorse. He has been wrong about Branch and his wife so this is the hat trick and he hasn't learnt from his mistakes. Despite what he said to Vic in the previous episode. He comes across as obsessive and vengeful with no evidence to back up his suspicions and his behaviour at this point is abusive stalking. After all Malachi has gone. The mob has gone. No more heroin and prostitution in his county he should be glass half full. Other characters have grown on me like Mathias but Walt's appeal is waning.
You would also think that a parent wouldn't jeopardise their daughters job.
Chaos Walking (2021)
It's kind of average
It didn't really get the chance to shine in a way that it could have. Which is a real shame. Stellar cast. 2 scenes of animal suffering and cruelty which was just unnecessary and the drowning of a dog made me nearly vomit it was just so unnecessary. That spoilt the film for me more.
The Blacklist: Nachalo (2021)
Jumping the Shark worst ever episode
This episode was beyond terrible on a gigantic scale. What the hell. Where the writers on crack? The producers? I had an headache by the time I finished the episode. The last 30 seconds ended the Neville Townsend story arc which was long overdue to be extinguished. I am not sure what this episode was competing for? A Razzie maybe? Because that's all this deserves. The powers that be have destroyed what was one of the best, the most brilliant and most compelling show. I will never get this hour of my life back that the show owes me.
Painful, painful, painful and shameful. The only thing left to do is burn the show down and salt the Earth.
This Is Us: Forty: Part Two (2020)
Watching shows take us away from reality
This episode was a little exhausting as I watch in Spring 2021. 2020 was just a bad year globally. Please don't Chuck too much reality at us all at once. Please let us have Randal back on a happier footing he has so much to be grateful for and to have gratitude & for those of us who lost someone close to COVID-19 the show trying to show him in the real world was wide of the mark.
