I loved it

If you like musicals you'll likely like this episode. Songs are great and it's a good turning point for a lot of characters. You feel just as uncomfortable as the characters as they start to sing but it's fun and has moments of hilarity.

Those hating on this episode probably are not musical fans. My husband loves Star Trek and still hasn't watched this episode. Oh well!! Not every episode of Star Trek is for everyone. This show is great bc it appeals to all of their fans, now including musical enthusiasts.

Also, the idea that something weird happens in space to cause this isn't far fetched. Star Trek is all about using space and science as a reason for creating their story lines, most of which are really far fetched. That's what makes it great.

SNW writers- thank you for the nod to Buffy the vampire slayer, another great musical adaptation that I've listened to countless times. I've already rewatched this 3 times. Fantastic.

Also, to those who are upset this show is funny.... Have you not watched all of the Star treks including TOS? It's always been funny.

Loved this

I just finished watching DS9 for the 3rd time and I could go back and watch it all again. Watching the documentary was great and I only wish it was longer and we learned more from Avery Brooks. This show has meant so much to me and the storytelling is the best. I love all things Star Trek and DS9 in my opinion is the best of all of them (also seen TNG 3 times) and it is probably one of the best shows ever. Story telling, character development, mature and complicated themes, the humor, this show takes you on an adventure and it's truly superb. The actors are amazing as well. Thank you to everyone that put this show together.

A different and refreshing story
12 August 2022
I have not read the comics and did not have expectations of the characters and how they were suppose to be. I have read a lot of the low reviews and while I see their point of view, I don't agree entirely.

I enjoyed watching the show for the uniqueness in fantasy story line and the exploration of what it is to be human dialogue. It sometimes felt like I was watching a play and each episode was a different act with its own unique tale intertwined while maintaining an overarching theme.

A lot of reviewers make mention of the diversity, change in characters race, and the number of gay relationships in the series. This is the way the creator intended his story if you read any articles where he explains his vision. It was nice to see a variety of ppl and sexualities in a show. Most series out there are white and straight and it's cool to be exposed to something different.

I really liked it and I can't wait for a second season. I thought most of the actors did a terrific job and really liked dream. Desire was mesmerizing.

The Batman (2022)

Trying to be fair

I am a huge Batman fan. I have seen all the movies, and some of the cartoon. And I've played several Batman story video games. I loved the Christian Bale Batman movies. Solid story telling.

This movie though, was a little too Gothy/punky for my taste in Batman. Lots of long drawn out stares and melancholy. Which I get, Batman is a dark character so it made sense but maybe it needed to be toned down a bit. BUT I can and do appreciate the detective noir vibe they had going for this Batman and from what I understand, this was a younger just starting out Batman, so I'm really hoping they develop the suave Bruce Wayne character more in the next films they make/have Pattinson lose that terrible hair cut. It was definitively better than the George Clooney and Ben Affleck Batmans.

My first review was 5/10 but I changed it to 7/10 because I'm hopeful they will deliver a stronger 2nd movie.

Warning: Spoilers
I went through and read a lot of the bad reviews for this movie and it feels like people are overthinking it. It was fun and entertaining. I really liked how they brought a horror element to Wanda's character because in the comics she also had a dark side and considering her crazy dark power, I like how they made her a scary witch. I love a good horror film and really appreciated the element of horror they were trying to bring into a MCU movie. I thought Sam raimi and Danny elfman killed it. Nice to change things up a bit. The movie concluded the Wanda's grief over vision/family arc (which was intensified by the darkhold's influence on her), and it opened up the door to Dr strange character evolving and a new plot line that seems like there's going to be more multiverse movies in the future (Loki show/villain should tie in at some point) I felt like they honored the comics and did their own thing. I want to watch it again.

Also, I liked that they killed off a bunch of other MCU characters that formed the Illuminati. I heard they had to cut some things short, like there was suppose to be a bigger fight scene between Wanda and Xavier, but whatever, it was cool to see them and to see their crazy demise. The fun part of the multiverse is that MCU can create all sorts of what if scenarios to keep on bringing back characters or introducing new ones. The creative possibilities are endless.

Also, not sure why everyone is so hung up on things being woke. Or this term woke to begin with. Who cares? This is how the characters were in the comics. It's nothing new or changed. And I don't see the problem with inclusion or representation in movies. It makes things more interesting.

I think this may be one of my favorite MCU movies. Very entertaining, visually stunning, and the characters did not disappoint for me.

Fun and entertaining

Some of the complaints in these reviews is that the story telling is fast paced and has lame writing. The story telling is quick paced because these are just meant to be short stories, nothing elaborate. It's told more in a comic book fashion and so is the writing, more than what you see in the movies. Don't take these episodes too seriously, they're meant to be fun. So far I have really liked the agent Carter and t'challa stories.

It is entertainment

This is not a quality Jennifer Ehle/Colin Firth Pride and Prejudice type series, or downton abbey. This show is an exaggeration of those kinds of tales and it is pure fantasy, using the back drop of victorian english high society. Do not take it seriously and enjoy it for what it is. It really highlights the absurdity of that time period as well. I love the pride and prejudice series I mentioned above and to me this movie was like a guilty pleasure version of that kind of genre. Costumes are beautiful and they threw in some modern music played classically, so really, this show is not taking itself seriously as a period piece, and is clearly just having fun. Have fun with it and enjoy the eye candy.
