Ahsoka: Part Seven: Dreams and Madness (2023)
Still so mid
Writing still sucks, the pacing is glacial, plot soooo convenient, acting awkward (that scene between Sabine and Ezra...), the Force has no rules anymore whatsoever, and every scene feels like you've seen it before... People have been missing for ages and spread across the galaxy but they all find each other instantly and around the corner from where they happen to be. It's like trying to create an epic adventure in your backyard while you're hanging up the laundry and having a good ole chat with the neighbours. So tiring and disappointing.
At this point star wars is for kids and people scrolling their phones.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
A sad watch
This movie ultimately dissects, poorly carbon copies and then from those scraps stitches together a soulless, uninspired and joyless .. thing that only looks like an Indy movie on the surface.
There is no heart, the characters are all wrong and misplaced, the de-aging is a fail, the visual effects are poor and plastic, and the action scenes start grating before they're halfway done. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is horribly miscast, and the way Indy is treated is very disappointing but not surprising anymore at this point.
It all feels so tired and depressing that you're better off watching one of the first 3 movies instead. A hollow by-the-numbers exercise in money making that kills off all the goodwill we still had.
Kastanjemanden (2021)
Average
Definitely not the best or most originel Nordic crime series.
All feels like a combination of things you've already seen and at no point is the story truly mysterious, scary or engaging.
Ending is pretty predictable as well so not sure what those plot twists would be that some people mention.
Attack of the Hollywood Clichés! (2021)
Uninspired, unfunny, unnecessarily woke
Switched it off before it ended. An unnecessary, uninspired and unfunny list of clichés that despite some (semi-)stars showing up is not better than random lists one can find on Youtube, trying to get your views with the lowest investment.
As clichéd as the tropes it wants to highlight, sprinkled with obvious woke remarks that frustrate rather than inspire or give insight.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Disappointing slog
I had some hope after all the negative buzz around the movie, but alas. This sequel is a complete slog, makes no sense, and is ultimately a sad disappointment - even with regards to simple B-movie fun. Jokes fall flat, plot devices are everywhere and the whole movie doesn't make sense at all. Even Diana comes across as sad, whiny and low on energy.. and don't get me started on the amateuristic and been-there-done-that action sequences..
I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore. (2017)
Weird, Short enough, Watch it.
See title. Fun little weird movie for a Friday evening.
Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (2018)
Netfix does choice
Imagine Netflix doing a Telltale game but with the usual heady stuff that Black Mirror delivers time and time again. The choosing you've done in video games, but the depth and meta on offer makes it something you shouldn't miss.
