Élite (2018)
Elite became such a soft porn series
I'm on season 5 and yeah, it's totally unrealistic, but it's also very hot.
It can be considered mostly lgbt series, highlighting male homosexuality and making everyone "experimenting" with their same sex colleagues. They cut dialog in favor of longer sex scenes. It reminds me of those late night erotic movies where women "find love" with lots of guys. This one got horny teenagers that are so young, so beautiful and a joy to watch.
Story isn't so intrigant and mysterious like in seasons 1-3. However, I have three more episodes to go so we'll see if they do something unexpected and surprise me like in the beginning.
Nevertheless, I like the show. It responds to my taste, and sometimes you just wanna eat a juicy cake not caring about a health or a storywise quality - I don't watch Elite because it's smart. I watch because it's entertaining and that's exactly why I keep on watching.
RuPaul's Drag Race UK vs the World (2022)
Off to the good start! (ep 1)
I was so excited for this season. Seeing contestants from different franchises together was making me mad. Queens on the talent show proved they all belong there. It's sad to see eliminations. I'd wish there were more episodes to once again get to know all the queens, but it shouldn't be too serious - there's no money on the line anyways.
Stay tough, Drag Race <3.
Drag Race Holland: Whodunnit (2021)
Unbelievable
At the beginning of episode, I was sure that Keta was going to win it all. I hoped they will do Candy Muse thing with her.
I just came here to see the ratings and this is NOT SURPRISING at all.
LOVEYA Keta <3.
Girl from Nowhere: Liberation (2021)
Wow. What a episode!
The season 2 of Girl from nowhere took the artistic turn and this is the top of awesomeness in every way.
The Haunting of Sharon Tate (2019)
How desperate was she while accepting the role?
It's been exploitative since day one. It's been the case since the media went crazy and has perpetuated mistruths making things even more salacious. It's now morphed into something that is more fictionalized than truth at this point. To celebrate the killers and the darkest portion of society as being sexy or acceptable in any way, shape or form is just perpetuating the worst of our society. I am vehemently opposed to anything that does that. I've been dealing with this for 50 years now. We need to stop this, and I intend to help the family behind the NoNotoriety anyway I can to help make this a national movement.
The Last Kingdom: Episode #2.6 (2017)
Final sequence of this episode...
... is filmed in the way that gives us viewers the view from the inside. As if you were one of the running peasents, lost, surrounded by the ones who want to kill you. Perfectly done. Brave move playing with camera - totally worth it.
I give it 9/10 because first part of episode wasn't as good as the ending, but I realise they had to keep something big for the end.
Fear the Walking Dead (2015)
If there's a problem, we're gonna know about it. The authorities would tell us.
The opening scene is like the first impression - if it goes well, your expectations shall go higher. For me, first scene was pretty good, and the rest of the episode justified that. Nothing new, but it had "original" style. Frank Dillane did a heck of a job, he was so believable. Right choice for Rick's "successor", for sure. Catharsis is yet to come for this character.
Interracial cast gives a drop of reality into that pre-apocalyptic world. Not everyone look like a supermodel, and that's okay. I find main cast likable, but that's maybe because there's no many characters in focus (for now, at least). Actually, I'm pretty sad this wasn't a pilot for some family drama show (which I don't usually watch) because I know that people will start dying very soon, and I just got over The walking dead deaths. Well, that's masochist dot in everyone who watch horror/thrillers.
Story's generally good, aside from few unbelievable situations (#mobilephone, #hospital, #nopeoplewhenzombieseat,...). It started slow, but "slowness" is recognizable in original show as well, and it's kind of trademark. I hope they won't do episodes like ones about General (or whatever his name was xD) All in all, more is yet to be seen. Watch it, it's worth it.
Cracks (2009)
Either you're a dreamer or you're achiever
What attracted me to this movie was interesting storyline and Eva Green. And when story got slow and little bit boring, I kept watching it with my eyes wide open because of beautiful cinematography: scenes of nature (especially water), flowers; subliminal messages 'bout transience of time and rather life than death.
First class cast did a great job of convincing the audience in credibility of their theatrics, and we all could have empathized with any of a girl in that private school - luckier with Fiamma, less lucky with other, poorer girls, and some of us (I'd say most of us) with a teacher, dreamer with her unfulfilled dreams which she weaves of stories from realistic fairies from all around the world.
At the end, you can't decide who are you more sorry of. Luckily, movie provides enough empathy for every watcher. There are cracks in everyone, but only few can find courage in themselves, make metaphorical glue, and wait and see what happens next (with their reasonable desire(s)). Message Miss G thought us was that you should indeed turn your dreams into reality, because if you get stuck in the mold, every day you're procrastinating "getting out", it would be harder.. and you'll end up changing 5 things from your commode. Forever.
And remember - chase your desires until they're not hurting someone else.
