Dying to Tell You (2010)
Great story telling and Honest Performances
I was fortunate to be a part of the premiere screening of DYING TO TELL YOU. Just when you think you know what to expect from Sean Jackson, he comes at you with something completely different. DYING TO TELL YOU is a sobering look into the life of a man living out his last few days unconscious,in bed, surrounded by family and friends and lovers from the past. the Journey takes us back through time as we return to the memories he shared with each of his mourners. But reality sets in hard as we see how the challenges of losing a loved one forces family and friends to converge and reconcile differences that have divided them for many years; especially old lovers who were never accepted by some family members. Life is finite, but Love is for eternity and will always prevail as does DYING TO TELLYOU! No effects, no explosions, just great storytelling and solid HONEST performances by a great ensemble cast. Perhaps this is still signature Jackson moving making.... tell a great story, bring a talented cast together, and make it impossible for the audience not to feel something. After all, isn't that why we see movies? DYING TO TELL YOU, will definitely make you feel, but what you feel and why you feel it, is the beauty of this film.
Sweet Ninja Brown (2010)
From one of the Cast
Sweet Ninja Brown is a throw back to when over the top was cool. if you love the 70's style film making for all its unique characteristics, you'll enjoy stepping back in time for this one. Director Alberto Triana and Somnium Productions truly captured the essence of the 70's style kung Foo/Chinese action movies. Complete with amped up sounds of fast moving hands and feet coupled with the unnecessary pans and zooms that defined that era and style of film making. Sweet Nija Brown comes complete with Good guys, bad guys, Bad girls and Bad guys that might as well be girls plus a whole lotta Ninjas. Written by Sean Jackson, Director Alberto Triana holds no punches, but lets them fly non stop thru a cast of politically incorrect wack jobs, Ninja's and one ordinary black dude down on his luck who goes from zero to hero...by way of the Ninja. Sweet Ninja Brown is enter the Dragon meets Blazing saddles through the eyes of Don Rickles....yeah i know think about that for a while. Kudos to Alberto Triana and the hard working folks at Somnium. To sum it all up....this movie's a trip....That everyone should take!
Bubblegum & Broken Fingers (2011)
From One of the Cast
Exceeded every expectation i had coming into the project. I'm extremely proud and fortunate to have been a part of BG&BF. The family at Somnium productions get things done unconditionally. The Story is a an amazing series of events that unfold in some of the most unusual ways. At times there is so much said with so few words if any at all. Sean Jackson's choices on every level provoked. He orchestrated an amazing combination of story, image and sound spun together with purpose and intent giving the viewer the best possible look into his minds eye. A Bizare walk thru the park to say the least. From the opening frame to the closing credit, BG&BF sets a Tone that is effortlessly powerful and compelling with the perfect shot of intrigue... A tone that may very well be "Signature Jackson"!
