Rent-a-Goalie (2006)
Funny Canadaian Comedy. For the 20+ something crowd
Takes place on what is believed to be little Italy in Toronto and has the setting of a café called "Cafe Primo" supposed to look like an Italian sports bar with wacky Italian Canadian characters carrying thick Italian like accents including one dubbed Joey "Almost" because he places almost at th end of every sentence. The owner of the Baris Johnny played by Louis Di Bianco. The main character is the employee Cake played by Christopher Bolton. Cake being short for mangae cake Italian for cake eater. Cake also happens to run a goalie rental service where for $50 he sends a goalie out to different hockey games to play for teams in need. All in all great program so far, Lots of appearances form hockey legends including Phil Esposito
Alive in Joburg (2005)
This movie is regular awful piece of work by the know-nothings at spy films
The folks at spy films have managed to waste a whole bunch of money again on a piece of junk movie with awful animations. The movie is in regard to a landing of aliens in Africa where they than are treated awfully and live under bad conditions. Althoguh the plot could possibly be taken and used to make some what of a feature length film the film just shows the amount of crummy work produced by spy films. Apparently hearsay says one of their directors is scheduled to be directing the halo movie which will no doubt to turn out to become one of the box offices biggest BOMBS. It's times like this you wish Canadian film companies actually spent some time to look at the junk their putting out and tried to properly compete with American ones. All in all not a very good flick
The Foursome (2006)
very warm movie destined to become a classic reunion movie for anyone who attended high school in the 80's
The movie follows four high school friends who also happen to have attended college together. They all go and meet at a golf course for their 20 year reunion to find that Not much has changed in each others personality. One friend has become a well off computer store owner with a drinking problem and "20 something wife", one has become a somewhat of a schiester played by Kevin Dillon and one works for a television station and the last works in a hard wear department. Throughout their ordeal at the reunion they get into arguments over past problems and new ones. They begin to play a round of golf for money and Kevin Dhillon and Chris Gauthier win the first round. Upset the other two friends decide to challenge them to a second round the following morning. The climax comes at this point when the four friends become enraged over some secrets which came out from college and the night before involving one of the men's wives. The men reconcile their differences and play the game of golf with he other two friends played by Paul Jarrett and John Shaw winning this round to even the score. Ends with a playful rendition of Bryan Adaam's "18 til i die"
