The Andy Griffith Show: The Return of Malcolm Merriweather (1964)
Annoying Aunt Bea
I'm a devoted fan as anyone of TAGS, but I seriously dislike Aunt Bea's frequent behavior: "I'm not needed, they didn't rave about my cooking, they don't love me, etc., etc.". Can she do anything besides make apple pie? Enough, Aunt Bea, you're just annoying!
The Andy Griffith Show: Hot Rod Otis (1964)
Drink and drive!
I'm a very devoted fan of TAGS, and have been for years, but when an episode features drunken Otis it makes me think: Such episodes make alcoholism out to be fun and amusing. But I know very personally that alcoholism is a serious health and social issue, and no laughing matter, and would never be amusing in a tv show today. But it's the 1960's, and TAGS is a comedy, so enjoy it!
The Andy Griffith Show: The Hollywood Party (1965)
More jealousy 👎
I agree with reviewer Moakin2005: Another episode with Helen as a witch, the perfect CRUMP!
The Andy Griffith Show: Guest in the House (1965)
Annoying
Another episode with Helen jealous and nasty. Her last name is perfect here, CRUMP!!
The Andy Griffith Show: Bargain Day (1964)
Tiresome Aunt Bee
I know that it's 1964, but it's still annoying to see Aunt Bee unable to leave the house in episode after episode without her silly hat and white gloves. 👎
The Andy Griffith Show: Floyd, the Gay Deceiver (1962)
The Lost Weekend
The actress who plays Floyd's pen pal, Doris Dowling, had a key role in the 1945 Best Picture film "The Lost Weekend." She was a neighbor of Ray Milland, who won Best Actor that year. True, this has nothing to do with this TAGS episode, but I think it's interesting!
The Andy Griffith Show: Andy's Investment (1967)
Expensive!
Helen is fairly accurate when she says that 4 yrs. of college would cost about $15,000. I got out of college in 1973 and my last year cost $2900.00. Also, I always enjoy Ken Lynch!
The Andy Griffith Show: Lawman Barney (1962)
Melvin the Great
I like any episode with Allan Melvin. He's great as a "bad guy," or a "good guy" in all 8 episodes. A few years later he was in The Brady Bunch, then All in the Family and Archie Bunker's Place.
The Andy Griffith Show: The Arrest of the Fun Girls (1965)
Annoying Jealousy
I can see why Helen and Thelma Lou are mad, but I find Helen's anger and jealousy to be very annoying. We see this in other episodes, and it appears that her anger is her specialty. It always annoys me. 👎
