Family Switch (2023)
Why does Hollywood keep making junk like this?
There is nothing redeeming about this movie other than to say that Jennifer Gardner looks like she hasn't aged in 30 years. Otherwise, Family Switch has nothing to offer. The story is ANOTHER body switcheroo premise just like the previous numerous SWITCH movies that are out there. There's nothing amusing or funny in this script even though there was plenty of opportunities to write something clever. Heck, comedian Pete Holmes had a bit role and they wasted a chance for his character to spice up the movie, but nope. Anyway, in the bigger picture, I didn't think people watched Ed Helms movies anymore. Jennifer Gardner is closer to the edge too because of this dog. Pass on this one and go clean your toilet instead. The experience will be better.
You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah (2023)
Cliche' and predictable.
If you're Jewish and your last name is "Sandler" then you might like this movie. Otherwise, I'd pass on this. This is one of those books that should have been made into a Hallmark TV Movie of the Week and not a full length feature movie. The story is very "Fairy Tale" predictable and unlike what happens in real life at school. However, the Sandler girls make nice breakthrough performances and I'm actually looking forward to more of their work... preferably in more serious roles. Not a whole lot of adult comedy with this film but teenage girls might find some value in it somewhere? Maybe the music soundtrack?
Pamela, a Love Story (2023)
Impressive! Pam came out a winner after decades of turmoil.
I'm not a fan of Pamela or Tommy. In fact, I pretty much hate celebrities, in general. Just because a person can "play a musical instrument" or "pretend for a living" shouldn't automatically give them the high power status that it now does in our society. With that said, I think this movie does a wonderful job of showing the true characters of Pam & Tommy. Their core values are solid and if you can ignore their celebrity occupations (and the glitter that surrounds that) then you can really see how loving and true they are as human beings. If I were their sons, then there is nothing that I would be ashamed about as having Pam & Tommy as my parents.
Pam's mistakes are that she keeps looking for a happy marriage (REPEAT: she is NOT a bad adult and NOT a bad mother). That message of her strength and core value is clear in this movie and listening to this stripped down "the real Pam" version makes the viewers want her to someday find the love and happiness that she so badly is looking for whether it be forever alone or with someone else.
The 100 (2014)
How come no fat people on this show?!!!
What a mess. Obviously, this show is created for someone with the intellect of a 10 year old boy. It's too one dimensional, too predictable, too much repeating of the same artificial suspense ("you have three seconds to tell me" etc etc), too many fake twisted storylines that become deadends and a waste of the viewers time, and all of the actors have the same concerned scrunched look on their faces for the entire seven seasons making it unclear if they actually know how to act. It's unfortunate that this was a seven season series because if it was edited down to maybe only three tight seasons then it might have been "good".
Lightyear (2022)
The worst Pixar movie ever! Not heartwarming, not funny, nor exciting.
Terrible. Nothing engaging at all and felt very much like I was reading a comic book instead of watching a movie. This should have been a Saturday Morning TV cartoon and not a feature film. A lot of broken action sequence moments hastily thrown around and edited all together. Absolutely zero emotion created for the viewer. A sad effort by Pixar.
