Uncorked (2020)
A Fine Wine
This is a drama that will keep your attention from beginning to end. The relationship between a father and son is strained when the son decides he wants to become a sommelier - the father had other plans.
Although the film focus a lot of attention on this this rather common perennial relationship problem that can occur between a father and son, the conflict unpacked and explored. That is we see more than a primitive head butting power struggle.
However, the movie was not simply about this conflict. It was also about a young man facing choices about what to do with his future.
Enjoy!
Inside the Criminal Mind: Death Cult Leaders (2018)
Shallow Analysis
This episode was ok. It presented a cults-for-dummies account of some notorious cults. It was worth 50 minutes of my downtime.
However, the psychological, behavioural, and social analysis of the featured cults and cult leaders was very shallow. I watched a textbook sketch of some infamous cults/cult leaders and learned that they were controlling and possibly psychopathic.
Watch it . . . but only if you've noting important to do.
The Ripper (2020)
Documentary . . . or sermon?
Unfortunately, this was another potentially great documentary series that too frequently shoe-horned political sermons into the script. The fine wine was corked on this occasion.
