General Hospital (1963)
I've been watching GH for 27 years
And I love the show. In recent years it started feeling just a little off. Amazing actors and performances, but I started to feel the show wasn't living up to its potential. But I noticed this week the show seems to be turning around and picking up. It seems fresher, more taut and dramatic. In 27 years, you go through periods here and there where you watch it less - maybe a couple times a week - but it's clear this show is on the up and up again. Instead of watching a couple times a week I find myself breathlessly awaiting each new episode. And the addition of some fresh new faces is great (big reason for show's improvement). Would love to see a long lost twin storyline like Vicky and Marly on Another World!
Holiday Harmony (2022)
To warm up Hamburg Holidays!
All my friends here in ice cold Hamburg got together to watch Brooke Shields in her new movie and had so much fun. We all love her so much. Very well written movie. We all watch english movies for english language practice and we learned some new fun communication in this. Bravo to writers. Brooke is so amazing she still looks great and is such an inspiration. Such great scenery and we all loved seeing the old VW van bc most of us are old enough to remember riding around in them when they were new and we were kids! Yes some of us are old but we appreciate movies with young people, all of whome were very talented in this special movie. Thank you Brooke and HBO!
A California Christmas: City Lights (2021)
Love this
I love this type of movie, and I love holiday movies so when they come together like this it's great. This one is as much fun as the first one but has a lot more scenery as half the movie is in the city and half on the farm. Lauren and Josh Swickard are great, fantastic chemistry. Ali Afshar is great. Script a lot of fun with many laughs. I wish netflix would just shoot a few of these so we could binge it.
A California Christmas (2020)
Really fun family movie
A great film to watch with family. It has the look/feel of a Hallmark or Lifetime film but it's significantly better than typical LT/HM movies and I would know, I love that stuff. The leads had great chemistry, and several of the supporting actors were pretty good as well. Well written, clever, some great California scenery. If you are looking for a movie with Santa and elves keep looking - it's not that kind of film - but this is a fun touching film the whole family can enjoy
The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two (2020)
Great holiday film
I'm a sucker for a holiday movie and this one is a fun family watch. And Kurt Russell as Santa can't be missed!
The Frozen Ground (2013)
great flick
Def worth a watch. Disturbing at times. Worth a look, but it's dark and depressing. well made and well acted. all in all A+
The Last Days of Disco (1998)
wow
I came across this flick in dvd form at an estate yard sale, and now I know why the guy let me have it for nothing. First, I love "talky" movies, where there is little in the way of action and a lot in the way of convo and human relationships. But this film... none of the characters have distinct voices at all. It's as though the writer just took their own thoughts and musings and assigned different sections of the same tedious diatribe to different characters. It doesn't sound or feel like actual conversation - more like one person talking out of many mouths. Classic narcissistic authorship. All in all it's borderline unwatchable, and a wildly inaccurate portrayal of the time and place it pretends to represent.
Splice (2009)
Fun movie if you don't take it too seriously
Came across this on netflix. I thought it was a campy, fun, interesting movie. Not the greatest flick ever made but definitely a fun diversion for a film.
Manhunt (2017)
