Hijack (2023)
Did they edit out the ending?
I watched it all, mainly due to being an Idris fan, and just to see what happened. There are more holes in the story than a slice of Swiss cheese, and the ending is terrible, have no idea what the purpose was of the last 10 minutes.
Many events seemed quite pointless, I kept watching thinking it would all come together in the end, but it didn't really. Could have been half the length. Can't even really understand how Idris' character got as far as did without being shot.
What happened to the two guys who got away in the red car? Why didn't they put the first officer in the cockpit at the end to help land the plane?
Essentially a bit of entertainment if you have 7hrs to fill.
Treason (2022)
Suspend all belief
Had high hopes but the storyline is beyond idiotic. As others have said, the wife of the head of MI6 is surprised, and suspicious, that her husband has secrets and gets calls at all times of the day and night. She trusts an old 'friend' from the CIA who randomly turns up just as her husband is promoted but doesn't trust her husband. The daughter escapes her protection detail who are made up of operatives trained to track people. The original head of MI6 knows his usual server by name but doesn't even notice that someone else, that he has never seen before, brings him his drink. And this is only the first episode! How did this script even get funded? The actors must have been desperate for work.
Persuasion (2022)
If you love Jane Austen, don't bother
I tolerated the first 15 minutes trying to figure out what was happening, by 24 minutes it was ludicrous, and then went downhill from there. As others say, it was a Bridgerton copycat. 'Anne ' is unrecognisable. If the makers of this try to do a remake of Pride & Prejudice I will not be responsible for my actions.
Good Sam (2022)
Just bad
I am about 10 minutes in and it is atrocious - the storyline whereby the Fellow becomes the Chief after 6 months is ridiculous without the poor acting and dreadful writing - the characters are plastic and shallow. The elevator scene was dreadful. The Chief of Cardiology doing basic assessments on new patients. The Dad up walking soon after waking from a 6 month coma. I think the brief nod to rehab was only to set up the rest of the story line. Not going to make it through the first episode.
This Is Us: The Train (2022)
Sublime
I have been a huge fan of 'This is Us' since the beginning and am so sad to see it come to an end, but what a magnificent episode this was. So creative, beautifully written and wonderful acting. Everyone was excellent but Mandy Moire was exceptional. Def Emmy winning material all round. I will miss these characters so much. Thank you to all involved for this gift of a program (I won't need to buy near so many tissues in the future).
9-1-1: Hero Complex (2022)
This show has lost the plot - literally
I have loved 911 in all it's cheeses glory, but this season, especially the second half, has been quite dreadful. This episode is ridiculous. I am disappointed.
The Replacement (2017)
Feels like a six part series that got edited to three
Despite a good cast, large chunks of this made little sense - almost as if they had removed sections during editing to cut it down. Had to fast forward at the end just to see what happened as couldn't keep watching.
Sweet Magnolias (2020)
Season 2 killing me
I didn't mind season 1, but season 2 makes no sense. Kyle not in trouble with the police, let alone anyone else, for driving and crashing without a license, plus he went from sweet to angry and miserable just because Annie wasn't interested? Coach Cal has a two second hissy fit and has to apologise for anger issues. The acting is pretty bad, and dialogue dreadful. My one hope is that Helen and Eric finally get together. Not sure why I keep watching considering the plot is non-existent.
9-1-1: Lone Star: Friends with Benefits (2021)
Unbelievable
I normally quite enjoy this show, and love the original for its rather crazy storylines but the final part of this episode asked viewers to suspend all belief. Rob Lowe is 57, the actress playing his wife is 55, and his character has had chemo, but they expect us to believe she is pregnant?!? That really is stretching it....
9-1-1: Suspicion (2021)
Poor old Maddie
Seriously, can Maddie not be happy for 5 seconds? Seriously I am tired of her always looking miserable. Otherwise I love the show, thiugh this episode was obviously going to be a "Munchausen's by proxy" type scenario. Please some happiness for Maddi soon please.
