Rango (2011)
Underrated
If you want an original, uplifting, and entertaining film, I suggest this one. It is wonderful. A cinematic masterpiece. 10/10
Benny & Joon (1993)
My favorite movie
This is, in my opinion, Johnny Depp's best performance.
Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game (2011)
Worth the buy!
My younger brother and I have a tradition of playing Lego games together and out of everyone I've played- this is my favorite. My boyfriend and I bought it and played it twice. We're both adults, huge fans of Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, and he is a big gamer; this is one of his favorite games. We enjoyed the the magic of the movie all over in Lego form, and once we completed the game (both times) we watched the movies.
21 Jump Street (2012)
Yes
Hilarious and happy about the cameos from the original cast!
The Lone Ranger (2013)
One of my favorite movies ever
There are no words to describe how much I enjoyed this movie! When I found out it was a Disney film, I must say I was surprised considering it is a little darker than their usual films but it showed a way Disney could reach an older audience while still captivating the younger demographic. Tonto. That is ALL I can say. Tonto. I 100% believe that Johnny Depp is to credit for bringing Tonto to life and, as always, breathing life into the character. The story of Tonto is relatable and reflects a lot of us and our guilt as adult for things that happened in our childhood. Armie Hammer is great as well; him and Depp have a chemistry that is a match made in costar heaven. I'd love to see a sequel. 10/10
Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016)
Magical
I am mentally ill. Unfortunately, watching movies isn't as easy as it used to be- my anxiety raises, my PTSD triggers, my focus shifts... HOWEVER there is something so freeing about this movie and the way the actors and director pay homage to the stories written by Lewis Carroll ESPECIALLY Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. I find that my heart absolutely melts and identifies with the vulnerability he can portray with just one single look. I find the mad hatter relatable and a lot easier to understand in this rendition rather than Disney's animated version. It's no surprise though- Tim Burton always delivers unique and quirky films that have this way of comforting the beast we call our mind- and I must say, that this is no exception.
Dior: Sauvage - Legend of the Magic Hour (2018)
Captivated
I remember sitting, eating dinner with my boyfriend and this artistic short comes on and we both were completely captivated. The beauty of it, of Johnny Depp, the freedom he encompasses and the wild spirit of being human is relatable and resonating. I remember immediately after, my boyfriend looked at me and said, "That's the man." Every time the commercial comes on, we literally lose track of whatever we're doing and become mesmerized by Dior Sauvage ft. Johnny Depp. The first time the commercial aired, my boyfriend literally stood up and exclaimed, "I want THAT cologne." My grandmother also talked to me about it. She said that she couldn't look away (and she's a pretty tough critic but she was completely sold) and that she was intrigued and in awe. Absolutely 10/10
