This movie delivers your fix for bloody revenge. Our protagonist has incredible assets. A fantastic behind, feet of steel and approximately 20 quarts of blood in her body. You'll enjoy this movie.

Salem's Lot (1979)

Still scary

I watched this on tv in 1979. I was 15 and it still scared me! I watched it again just now expecting it to be corny and tame. It was not. Still scary after all these years. The other thing that stood out was the cast. It's like a who's who of television actors from the 80s and 90s. It was great fun watching this again.

God Told Me To (1976)

Worth watching

I just watched this movie on Shudder. I don't know why except something just told me to pick it. I was impressed by the cast. It was full of many excellent character actors that I remember from the 70s to 90s. It starts off as a police procedural, but soon veers in a surreal direction. I was very surprised to see Andy Kaufmann make his film debut in a non-speaking part as a young uniformed policeman turned into a possessed assassin. I suspect he was cast in this role just by the serene, but maniacal, facial expression he was able to pull off. I'll not reveal anything else, but do recommend you watch this interesting film.

The Darkest Dawn (2016)

Better than Hungerford!

I gave Hungerford 3 stars. This gets 4. The acting is still pretty amateurish, but the simple plot seems to at least make logical sense. They dropped the spray can secret weapon in this sequel. Perhaps we will see the return of deodorant in the trilogy conclusion. That way, part 3 won't stink.

Not very good at all. The "video diary" thing was poorly done. It was not working well enough to stick with for the whole movie, so they basically gave up the pretense halfway through. I watched the whole movie, hoping it would get better. It did not. The ending seemed very forced, as if they wrote it the same day they shot it. There were a few good bits. The policeman was an excellent character and despite a small part, was the most memorable part of the movie. The alien bugs were pretty well done for such a low budget. I don't think any of the actors were overtly bad, just inexperienced. With more time and direction, they might do well. Keep trying! We need more independent film.

Infestation (2009)

Actually entertaining!

If you can get past the first few minutes of awkward acting and exposition, you will be rewarded with an actually entertaining little movie. You can pretty much guess each plot turn a mile ahead, but it's still an enjoyable journey. I got a feeling of nostalgia for those SciFi Channel CGI monsters of the 2000s. I gave it 7 stars because it easily surpassed my low expectations.

This was an interesting, but disappointing film. The various interviews were informative. The main draw was obviously the exorcism. It was so not scary. It was ridiculous. The voice was clearly manipulated in post production. It was the same voice effect used in dozens of movies. It's probably labeled "Devil Voice #3" in the drop down list of audio filters in their editing software. You need only look at the reactions of the numerous family members in the room. As the harsh demonic voice screams at the priest, they are not startled in the least. They calmly look on, smiling and nodding like they're gathered around the table for Sunday dinner. No fear, no drama... Just silliness.
