Fifteen and Pregnant (1998)
If that was me, my parents would kick my a**
There is a fine line between being too strick and too loose as a parent. When a child for yours has a child of their own before they get into high school, that is a pretty big deal. Fifteen and pregnant portrays the Spangler family as a family with some problems, but I felt like they treated the whole pregnancy as a good thing. They never yelled at Tina (Kirsten Dunst) once for what she had done. They just accepted it. While I think parents should be more like that rather than mean and kick the child out, I don't feel like this is an accurate representation of how things should be or are. The love you see at the end of the movie between the whole family is great though and I wish life was more visibly like that; getting through a tradegy together with the people who love you.
Get Over It (2001)
Know what you are getting into
Look, for the people who have seen this movie and complained about it being another "lame teen flick", what did you expect when you saw the trailer. I thought this movie was really cute and I think all its young stars shined. This movie took a story from the ages and put it into the context of today's youth (I can say that because I am pretty much one of today's youth). Just to say it again, if you don't like the teen movie genre, then don't watch this movie....otherwise, enjoy because I feel this is one of the better, more upbeat ones.
ps. even cisqo wasn't too bad
The Big Hit (1998)
It is just entertaining
Well, if you want to be watching a thought provoking film with gobs and gobs of meaning, don't see this movie to try and get that. On the other hand, if you want to see some great action sequences and some funny lines, then this is the movie for you. There is a nice mix of young and not so young actors in this movie. Mark Wahlberg does any excellent job as usual. Some of the stuff in the movie is unbelievable, but that is why you watch movies, to step out of reality sometimes. Also, the movie has lines that you will be reciting to all your friends for years and years to come.
Crazy/Beautiful (2001)
your so crazy, your so beautiful
This movie was a real thought provoker. Kirsten Dunst and Jay Hernandez play their roles beautifully. The story itself isn't a story that hasn't been told hundreds of thousands of times, but this time the story was told with such a passion that I have never felt so close to in all my life. I think that this role for Kirsten Dunst just adds to the fact that she is not all a gorgeous women, but an incredible actor.
American Pie 2 (2001)
A ton better than the first one
All I have to say is Stifler...he makes the movie. I saw the first one and was pretty disappointed with it; I mean how many times can you hear "this one time at band camp" before you go see the movie. The second one definitely tops the first. The movie was predictable, but even with that, the laughs just keep on coming, to the point that you almost feel uncomfortable. A must see, but can rent.
