Meongmongi (2023)
Delightful and Charming!
This is a very sweet story, mixed with enough drama to balance it out. It is an uplifting and inspirational Korean movie about a man who loves his fiancée enough to give up his beloved dog because she is allergic. And how his search for the perfect home for Runni becomes difficult.
The storyline is about relationships--family friends and pets. It has some humor and sadness but is just an overall delight to watch and of course you can't go wrong with puppies! Not just for animal lovers, but if you do love animals it will charm you even more.
This is a good "pick me up" when you need a bit of sweetness in your life.
Jesus Revolution (2023)
Very well done!
This film is well casted, with nice cinematography. The story does not go into extreme depth about the people and events given the time frame, but is instead an overview of the 60's movement and it's leaders. It is told from Greg Laurie's perspective. The movie does show some issues that arose, but does not deal with a lot of the difficulties that happened. That kept the movie light and joyful overall, so it is a pleasure to watch, without much conflict.
The costuming was fun, and I enjoyed the transformation of Kelsey Grammer's costumes. He started off in a suit, then a sweater over a shirt, then a shirt and tie, then ended up in a Hawaiian shirt. It helped with the fun of the movie to see the change.
Interview with the Antichrist (2020)
Thought Provoking
This movie was great at making you think about our society and how far away from God we have moved. Things that were completely unacceptable in society are now celebrated. Some things went from being a crime to forty years later it is now a crime to speak against. And churches have become social clubs not willing to offend by mentioning sin and the need for a savior.
Biblically this was pretty good, a few minor errors I won't bother going into. I would say it was very skewed to America but you realize that the interview is in America so it makes some sense. Overall the acting was pretty good and the filming/production better than most Christian movies. I felt that it was a compelling movie and will lead you to evaluate yourself, your church, and your society. Well worth a watch.
