Supernatural: War of the Worlds (2017)
No thanks
Ketch? Why? There was no one else to bring back? I was relieved with the BMOL plotline ended so I don't need any more of him. Also not interested in a Lucifer made to seem sympathetic. Let's set up some new plots here instead of constantly returning to the past.
Supernatural: Twigs & Twine & Tasha Banes (2017)
Here for the twins
I really like Alicia and Max and this was an interesting story for them. I fairly positive this doesn't come back in the show, which is disappointing, but what a cool ending.
Supernatural: There's Something About Mary (2017)
Why
I was interested when the BMOL put out the hit on Eileen and was waiting for it to come back. But to have her be unceremoniously killed by a hellhound (which she can't see or hear and thus had no way to fight, especially at night) is awful. She didn't even need to die for the plot of the episode to work. I had such high expectations for this character since I knew she was a fan favorite and once she showed up I immediately loved her. To have her appear in only a handful of episodes, build up this potential relationship with Sam, and then kill her for, seemingly, no reason (since it was linked to the murders of hunters, not to when she accidentally killed the BMOL)? No thanks.
Supernatural: The Big Empty (2017)
Emotional scenes make a classic "monster of the week" episode great
I really enjoyed this one! Angry Dean has been pretty unbearable so far but it led to some great emotional scenes in this one - Sam yelling at him during the "therapy" session was excellent. I loved the shifter therapist and it's always good to see Courtney Ford. They haven't done much with Jack yet, but seeing him grapple with his nature and the loss of his mom was excellent. Plus, interesting development with Castiel and the Empty.
Supernatural: The One You've Been Waiting For (2016)
Good direction, tired plot
I was excited to see that this episode was written by and directed by women, but once I saw it was about Nazis (again) my expectations plummeted. Destroying Hitler's Horcruxes? This must be on a fanfic site somewhere. And poor Ellie is written to be pretty unlikeable. Also, I'm not interested in seeing the son who was raised by bad guys plot anymore. They did it in Dark Dynasty and it wasn't very compelling then. Enough white rich boy redemption plots.
