Couldn't Even Finish
23 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The plot line was so stinking stupid I don't even know why I turned it on. Really, a 60-something woman walking 80 miles with a day pack and no provisions. Then, put her on a treacherous road with no shoulder. I'm 67 and know my limitations, and no way I can buy into this. Then look at the characters. A grouchy old lady, a self-absorbed son, and a granddaughter who I don't know what's her story. Oh, I know why I thought I could watch it, Tom Skerritt. He was so likeable in Journey Back to Christmas. At one point I was so bored I checked to see how much was left, and when I saw 30 minutes, I knew I was done. Just for kicks, I fast forwarded to the scene where she is confronted by two men who wanted to "do her," and I knew I was completely done watching this snoozefest. I am really surprised by the good reviews.

Leading Lady the Best!
12 March 2024
I know, I know, this movie has all the makings of a crappy, rehashed plot, Hallmark movie. But for me, it was very watchable because of the lead actress, Emma Reinagel. Really, can you expect anything serious with the name Cinderella in the title? So just go with it have some semi-mindless fun. Like I wrote, I enjoyed the interactions, even if they were cheesy at best. Perhaps I also gave it good marks as I hate most movies out today and just wanted to watch and relax at dinner time. This fit the bill perfectly. Is watching a delightful, pretty woman ever a waste? No, I say! And if you haven't caught on by now, I agree that the movie plot isn't actually strong enough to comment on much, but I have to satisfy the word limit. Enjoy it!

Horrible Movie, Horrible Person
12 March 2024
This is the WORST Christian movie of all times. Every aspect of it is either manipulative, lying, or flat out cringy. The first warning sign is when the college biology professor tells her students to ditch their religious beliefs. In what universe would this happen? Oh, let me back up a bit. The reason why this old coot goes to college is that "we're at war," and he is going to be the champion to dispel the myth of evolution. Oh wait, there's more! Donald James Parker, wrote, directed and made himself the lead character, giving himself super- human geriatric powers. He is a grand master at chess, pro ball player, long distance runner that beats 20-year-olds, and yes, even a lady's man. But being such a prude, he won't succumb to a 'woman's charm'. Now ask yourself, why does a 60 something man need to have so many movies where he plays the lead with young girls? In seeing interviews with Donald, you can see a hypocritical dark side to this man. He supports a rapist bragging about rape, saying it's "just locker room talk." So, you can either avoid this movie, period, or have fun and watch it on you tube where a commentator will share the laughs and groans with you. And Donald, if you're reading, get this: We see your hypocrisy and twisted mind. Your movies reek of desperation to be liked.

Cartoon about Unicorns More Believable
22 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It's been said before, but preachy Christian movies suck! This one wants me to believe that Creation has any place in a college science course. Why do you believe? Because the Bible says so! Your proof? My illogical faith! But beyond that, the debate was the worst. At no time did the professor leading the charge for evolution make one valid point. And the end preaching about Jesus, WTF!? What moderator would allow any ridiculous outburst like that. The funny thing is, as one atheist youtuber pointed out, what was with all the women wearing scarves? Part of a secret cult? Also, the scenes were choppy and many irrelevant. Too bad this was Harry Anderson's last role, as this movie is a complete waste of time and brain cells.

Low Low Budget Film
9 July 2023
Don't waste your time on this stinker. So bad, that I found myself fast-forwarding it. The music score was beyond horrendous, the movie focused too much on the main character's prostitution. The first sign of "dudhood" was when the mother gave the main character a hard time for wearing an outfit she deemed inappropriate. It was leggings and a fairly long knit top barely exposing her navel, When the film shifts to the equine therapy, the lead actress is the only client. Really, a program with one person? I only gave this movie a shot because it reminded me of 'Unbridled', a FAR superior movie with a similar plot line. The only saving "Grace," was that she ended up being the hero at the end.

One of 10 best Horse Films!
7 November 2022
OK, right off the bat I want to say this film is superb in the German format as Ostwind. So much is lost in translation/dubbing. I also want to say that some of the points in other reviews could be debated, but as it was said, this is strictly rating the film. The scenery and music are breath-taking, and the plot/acting great too. One of the "errors" pointed out is that it is dangerous sleeping with a stalled horse. But this is a crucial aspect of the plot. Herr Kahn recognizes Mika has a Noirsoj, one who has a special bond to horses, because of Mika sleeping with Ostwind. It is with this awareness that Mr. Kahn develops a unique training program for Mika, one where she truly bonds with Ostwind. I think watching them train together was the best part of the film. This film inspired me to become involved with horse rescue and care. I wanted to see what that kind of bond could feel like and fell in love with our horses. I found an article that rated the 10 best horse films and this one was listed. I couldn't agree more. P. S. I rated Windstorm an 8 because of dubbing, but IMdb doesn't list the original German Ostwind. That film gets my 10.

Rethink Buying Bottled Water!
6 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
In this film, Mika and Ostwind embark on an adventure, leaving Germany on a voyage to Spain. Mika feels Ostwind is missing something and goes there in search of his heritage. Once again, beautiful scenery and music are highlights of the film. It seems that Katjia Von Garner weaves social messages into these films, this one, the evils of bottled water companies. (Look it up, it's true). Again a bit spiritual, Mike "connects" with Ostwind during a very important horse race. Like Fannie said, "a horse race, what a surprise," but it's a really uplifting moment of the film. Just know that it has a happy kind of sad ending.

Wunderbarer Film
6 November 2022
Following the Ostwind legacy, this film has everything that makes a film great. Fine acting, beautiful scenery, and more superb music from Annette Focks. The main theme which leads to the climax is the nasty business of animal abuse. There is also a "spiritual" aspect to these films, as Mika has a special connection to Ostwind. This film and the others in the series are geared towards teen girls, but it's enjoyable for everyone. I will say though that this is best viewed in the original German. (Windstorm in English). I had to order the DVD set from Europe and a special player, but the dialogue truly is lost in English translation, as are all these films. Highly recommended.
