'Real' Reality Television
20 August 2022
I have never watched a survival show in my life until a friend recommended this show to me. This is a fantastic series that is very authentic and different - pure reality, no producer-lead actions to scrip the series, and absolutely no interference from the production crew. It is literally ten men dropped off in the harsh Pacific Northwest (Vancouver Island) all alone, with very little survival gear, to defend for themselves.

I felt the need to give this series a rating and review early, as I'm only on the first season. This show definitely brings 'real' back into reality television.

Compelling Historical "War" Story
15 August 2022
I'm not really up on any Native American icons, and I will admit that I had no idea who Geronimo was before watching this movie. Overall, the movie was decent.

The scenery in the movie is beautifully done, you sure do get the old western vibe of Cowboys versus Indians. The acting was also well done - especially the guy who played Geronimo; he really stands out in his character.

In the meantime, I liked the movie better than my rating shows, but I'm just not really interested in the whole wild west setting in the 1800s.

Not knowing any facts or background information on this particular matter during the Geronimo-era, I thought the movie told a decent story.

Sad Story
14 August 2022
Another good true documentary story produced by Netflix. First off - it's nice how they shed light on how cumulative manipulation and abuse can have ruin on a persons life. I thought the production had all the pieces for a sad, but educational docuseries. Some of these documentaries are too long and dragged out - but this one tells you the whole story in three episodes.

God bless Anthony and may he make the most of a full life that is ahead of him!

This is simply one of the best movies I've watched. It's an intense psychology battle all the way through between an intense music teacher and a college student who wants to be the best dummer.

I'm not used to finding a movie this good out of nowhere, so I'll keep the review short and end it here. I could talk about the movie all day. Masterpiece!

It's Different
9 August 2022
This more was very different to say the least. It had some similarities to a slasher-like movie, which isn't a genre that is my cup of tea. However, the acting, especially the main girl, was done really well.

The movie overall was okay - this is an odd movie to review as there isn't really much to explain without giving it away. If you like slasher movies with a twist, this movie could be to your liking.

Overall, as I said, not a fan of these types of movies. However, the acting was really good and it was just different than any other movie I've watched.

Unique
6 August 2022
The movie overall was pretty decent I thought. The movie has really nice visuals - and the story is unique. I think I could have given this movie a 7.0/10.0 if someone else was playing as Heinrich. Brad Pitt doesn't do a bad job but this is a very different role for him. His accent does slip at times (no big deal), but I just didn't think Brad Pitt was a very good fit for this one.

Entertaining From Start to Finish
5 August 2022
Come on guys, how is this movie only rated 6.9 stars? The movie was great. It was so entertaining from start to finish - even if not everything was included in the film. Is the movie better than the book? I wouldn't know as I haven't read the book yet. However, even though the book always tells more, I don't know how anyone could write a negative review on this movie.

It had everything from a good story, fantastic music, great acting, and some comedy thrown in as well. Not many movies nowadays are upbeat and entertaining from the very start to the very finish like this one!

First Movie to Make Me Shed a Tear...
5 August 2022
Very sad and heartwarming story based on a true story. Maudie seemed like such a sweet woman that didn't have it easy - both with her condition and her marriage.

The acting was fantastic. The actor playing Maudie done an excellent job playing her character. She seemed like such a sweet woman. God love her for putting up with her husband, Edward, who loved her dearly, but didn't treat her very good - especially before they married.

Excellent story that literally left a lump in my throat as I fought back tears towards the end of the movie. I truely hope that Maudie is resting peacefully.

The movie has great reviews, which is great to see. Best Canadian movie I have ever watched!

Intriguing Thriller Based on Real Life
5 August 2022
This movie was great - the story was well written, the acting was great, and there was lots of suspense. I've noticed a lot of comments saying about how the events in the movie are inaccurate. This could very well be true, but I can't comment as I haven't looked into it.

Even if the movie isn't accurate, it told a great story of how Canada helped their southern neighbours in a very well-developed "Operation Argo".

Hard To Believe It's True
20 July 2022
I'm years behind on this movie, but at least I can say it was worth the wait! Both Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks being in a film together is epic and this movie was the perfect one for them both to shine.

I'm not exactly sure how many details from the movie really happened in real life, but the movie had lots of little twists and turns in which DiCaprio performed well with his charming and slippery personality potraying the famous con Frank Abagnale. Even if the little things aren't accurate to real life, DiCaprio certainly took the suspense to the next level with his fast-thinking tactics just when you keep thinking he is done for.

The suspense showed in the movie, especially from the main characters (DiCaprio and Hanks), made it a really fun movie to watch. It made for a lot of fast and entertaining moments that added to an already bizzare story based on true events.

Love That Changed History
15 July 2022
Overall the movie was good although it did lack the emotional side of the circumstances at times. But, this is an accurate and inspiring story of how love and the right mindset of an interracial couple changed history. Despite being a little too long with little excitement, it tells a decent story that changed marriage laws forever.

Impressive Movie of a Family Man and Notorious Contract Killer
15 July 2022
The story of Richard Kuklinski completely missed my radar as I've never heard of him before reading the summary of this movie before giving it a watch. The movie, according to facts, does a great job at displaying the facts of the Iceman and is apparently very accurate. This will definitely lead me to reading the book.

The acting, it was fantastic! Michael Shannon done an amazing job at playing Richard Kuklinski. From being a family man to doing contract killings, he adapted really well to his characters traits throughout the movie. His character definitely stole the show from start to finish. Ray Liotta, despite this being far from his best movie, was good as well - but not near as good as Shannon!

The Book is Better
23 June 2022
This movie caught my eye as I remembered reading the book quite a while back (forgetting the name of it now). It was a decent movie with a powerful story about a brave woman who went above and beyond to fight for freedom. The movie was good but not great. A little too slow-paced for me but a decent watch nonetheless.

Tremendous
22 June 2022
This movie is definitely one of the best movies I've ever watched. The acting was fantastic and so was the story. Very indepth movie (being a little over 2 hours long), but there was never a dull moment. It really gave you a detailed view of what innocent people went through during the Hitler-era simply because they were Jewish.

Before the Taliban
19 June 2022
Another Tom Hanks movie that never disappointed. The movie was really good and told a good story based on true events of a Congressman in small-town Texas put politics aside to help out Afghanistan with weapons to defend themselves against the Soviet after seeing the horror of what families and innocent people were going through and how they were living.

Good story with laughable moments as the dry sense of humor isn't overdone; which is good because too much comedy could have taken away from the story). The acting was also good.

Was this Tom Hanks' best movie? No - far from it!

HOWEVER - a good movie nonetheless.

Full of Unnecessary Subplots
10 June 2022
As a big fan of World War II movies I was quickly intrigued after reading the summary for this movie. However, I can't say I enjoyed this one. Although the acting was top-notch, there were multiple subplots that took away from the main story. This also interfered with my understanding of the movie also. It just felt like there was something about the movie that was taking away from the main story.

Sloppy Movie Overall
9 June 2022
It's been quite some time since I've watched a shark movie. I'll also admit that I have never heard tell of this movie series on the past. However, after watching this movie I truely don't understand why it was listed under the horror genre on Netflix; although it is definitely a thriller without any shadow of a doubt.

The movie itself wasn't good at all in my opinion - the acting was bland and cheesy, the story was dull, and the CGI was below average as far as today's standards.

Thrilling True Story
8 June 2022
This was one of the more thrilling movies based on a true story I've seen in quite some time. Emilia Clarke was great at her role despite the rest of the cast being pretty mediocre. All in all the story was pretty good and certainly deserves more than a five-star rating.

Something Different
7 June 2022
This is definitely one of the best movies I've watched in quite some time. John Leguizamo played a great role as the school teacher and chess coach. I'm so used to seeing him in side roles in dark and shadowy films but his acting as a teacher and chess coach was really good. It's a different role for him and overall this is just a different type of movie that really isn't similar to anything I've ever watch; specifically regarding chess.

Another thing about this movie I like is the vibe - it's one of those movies where the teacher plays a big role in getting the students on the right path while keeping them inspired to stick together as a chess team. One of those "inspired by a sport/game" kind of movies.

Psychological Thriller?...
30 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is another movie I found enticing after reading what it was all about. I didn't really feel this movie was a psychological thriller which is what it was labelled as. The movie was about a young woman who didn't seem to have much respect. She seemed to like older men; specifically married men and cheaters it seemed.

The movie overall wasn't very good at all in my opinion. The movie didn't give any background on the main character to give you information on why she is the way she is that lead to her drinking. From start to finish you know very little about her besides the obvious.

When I saw the movie being labelled as a "psychological thriller" it caught me by suprise, because, was it? Not for any moment in time did I suspect any or her "lovers" to harm her in any way. The movie never gave the vibe there was going to be a murder. And, where was the twist? There was no twist in this one. At the end of the movie she goes to explain how she was alone the night she died and that was literally all. It ended as she was mixing alcohol with pills for withdrawl which later lead to her death in the bath as Chuck was away.

The story was bland and the only "psychological" thing about this movie was at the end when she's talking in third-person about how her death could have been on purpose or by accident due to mixing the pills and booze. The end basically had you assume for yourself.

Denzel Washington or Scarface?!
29 May 2022
Been meaning to watch this one for a while. I was told if I liked Scarface I would also enjoy this one. That statement was true as I thought this was another solid showing of acting and story put together. The movie had a very similar vibe to Scarface minus the violence; which is one thing a movie of this genre lacked.

Wasted Opportunity
29 May 2022
I really don't have much to say about this movie. The bad reviews don't really shock me. I thought the story had a lot of potential seeing the subject was based on a true story and all but it was the complete opposite. The movie had below-average acting along with multiple dull scenes in which I found confusing at times.

Very Moving Father and Son Story
20 May 2022
This was a very good movie with great acting and storytelling. It had lots of emotional punch as well; specifically Conlon and Guiseppe's situation in prison-an innocent father and son duo rotting away in jail for a crime they did not commit. I also cannot forget the other falsely accused victims as well. The movie really does make you feel the pain of everyone involved.

Not Many Likeable Characters
20 May 2022
This movie was half defent at the very most. It had pretty ladies in it and told the story of Roger Ailes (who I wasn't very familiar with). Although the movie was good it could have been a lot better; especially the characters. I just didn't, for whatever reason, find either character in this movie likeable in any way. Despite of all this, the fact the movie is based on real-life events make it interesting enough to watch and enjoy.
