The Losers (I) (2010)

The Losers Are Actually Good
20 February 2010
Warning: Spoilers
As comic-turned movies usually go, this was one that is unlike any other. From Sylvain White, director of Stomp The Yard, this movie brings an edge to comic-book movies. This is a surprise mix of action, comedy, and just a tad bit of drama. The Losers is a substantial Saturday-night's entertainment.

The Losers starts with an attack by a CIA team (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, Idris Elba, Columbus Short, and Oscar Jaenada), which was a pretty predictable way for the movie to start. The team soon realizes after the compound is demolished, that they had been set up by someone named Max. Since they have no passports, they are bound in the country. Then Clay (Morgan) meets Aisha (Saldana) in a bar, she informs him that she can get them back to the States and help them catch Max. They agree, and the story begins.

For the next hour, the silly quips by technical analyst Jensen (Evans) is the only break in between the mediocre action scenes and the dull dialogue. The action and fight scenes are something that this type of audience has seen many times--making those scenes just average. Jeffrey Dean Morgan's portrayal of Clay is good, but a bigger star attached would have gotten a wider audience. Warner Brothers decided to provide a new side of Zoe Saldana--a badass one used for the same purposes as Megan Fox's character in Transformers. The set is nothing spectacular either, I noticed that I've seen the same locations used in up to as many as 3 previous movies. However, The twist halfway through movie renders more thought out of the audience, in the end just confusing them.

Outstanding!
19 July 2008
There are many words to describe the box office blockbuster, The Dark Knight. Commonly known by IMDb users as TDK. Some may say that the popularity was boosted by the death of Heath Ledger. It may also be that nearly every actor in the production was amazing to watch on screen. At times, I tried to picture the people behind the characters, mostly Heath Ledger behind the Joker. I could never quite do that, for he had such an amazing performance that half way through the movie, it was hard to picture the Joker as another person. Though there wasn't many laughs, there were many sharp intakes of breath. Especially during the parts that you weren't expecting it. For younger audiences, the plot might be hard to understand at some parts. TDK was very believable and the villains were sinister to the bone. Previous to this date, I have looked forward to July 18th, 2008, and the production I saw tonight did not let down any expectations. Bravo. One last thing, R.I.P. Heath Ledger, we will always remember.

Don't watch this if you want to laugh
8 June 2008
Warning: Spoilers
The story line was crappy as hell. I felt like falling asleep. The only 3 times you saw the bad guy, he wasn't acting suspicious. It really made me reconsider going to see another Adam Sandler movie. Zohan is basically another continuation of his character in "Click." Except with more raunchy behavior. No one really wants to watch (or listen to for that matter)Zohan do a 75 year old lady. Some of the scenes were put in order that didn't make sense and many of the scenes were not even needed. I honestly don't think I laughed once. There is no other way to describe You Don't Mess With The Zohan than just another movie with humor like Epic Movie. No one could drag me to go see it again.

Somewhat Funny

It was a cute kid movie. It made me laugh. I really liked it. My mom and sister really liked it also. But I was sort of upset at the way they treated the poor rabbits. I mean come on, who can't like those big eyes??? I feel so sad for them. The hunter guy was sort of scary in away. I felt sorry for Elliot with the way both of his horns got cutoff. Now that part was sort of sad. What was also sad was that Boog didn't go home with Beth. I like the movie altogether I guess. I thought it was aimed for kids from the ages of six-eight or nine. The propane tank was a nice touch. I loved how many animals wanted to come to the "safe" place with Boog.
