Sweet Magnolias (2020)
Dumbed Down Ripoff of Gilmore Girls
I was excited when this show came out, it had potential, but then as I started watching the storylines started to feel all too familiar. The main characters best friend is a Chef, who starts dating her produce supplier, the friends open up a business together, but instead of a hotel it's a spa, there's gossipy town meetings, I could go on. It's like they didn't even try to hide that they were ripping off Gilmore Girls. Where these two shows diverge however is in the writing, the character development is almost none existent, and the attempts at drama fall flat. It's really too bad, I wanted to like this show but at best it's something you play in the background.
Burning Questions: Red Notice (2021)
Nothing Special...
This movie is such a mish-mosh of other movies that despite the action and actors the story just fell flat. I struggled to even finish it. Ryan Reynolds has got to do something besides regurgitating Deadpool in every other movie, it's getting old. And the Rock is a bad actor, he had no chemistry with anyone in the movie and zero emotion. I can't imagine they are going to make another one, and if they do, I'm not going to waste my time.
After We Collided (2020)
So awful. Such a waste of time.
The first one wasn't anything but this one was absolutely terrible. Bad acting. Bad script. Little to no plot. Cliché scenes that felt like they were pulled from a Hallmark movie trying to add romance. Basically no character development. I don't even remember how it ended because that's how little I cared about it. Don't waste your time. And someone please get the main actors some acting lessons.
Can You Keep a Secret? (2019)
Awful. Just awful.
This movie was just painful. The lead actress is horrible, there's no chemistry between the love interests, and everything feels forced and flat. The story is unbelievable, anti-climatic, and boring. The acting is horrid, cringeworthy and slow. Don't waste your time. Stare at a wall instead.
