Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Therapist (2019)
Quite possibly the first time B99 stereotyped a marginalized community.
I was totally disgusted at this episode; it was totally disrespectful to people who suffer from multiple personality disorder (Dissociative identity disorder). It was as if you were mocking people with that disorder. It certainly isn't very funny to people that have to live with this illness, it has got to be one of the worst mental health illnesses that people have to live with; they are usually rejected by their own families and so called friend,, so they have already been through enough abuse and trauma in their whole life without being mocked by idiots that know nothing about it or it wouldn't have happened. It is a real illness, and the individuals living with it deserve respect. That's all I'm saying on the matter, totally disappointed in you. Plus, the bottle bowling cold open was extremely boring and forced that I didn't even laugh at once; Terry's phrase ruins the alliteration in the cold open.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: New Captain (2015)
Season three just got off to a great start!!!
Following a heartfelt finale for season 2, I thought Season 3 was gonna get worse. However, I was surprised that the Season 3 premiere never disappointed me, and I am happy to say Season 3 could beat out Season 2 as Bill Hader's performance as Seth Dozerman was legendary and produced a lot of belly laughs.
The Office (2005)
Exclude Dwight, Ryan, and Angela
If there was no Dwight, Ryan, or Angela, I would've given is straight 10. Those characters weren't funny, just mean and boring. Too much lame. They spoil the show alone.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: He Said, She Said (2019)
Enough with the woke politics already!!
Please don't slam me if I give this a 7, but although I have faith in the messages that sexual harassment is indefensible and men shouldn't disrespect women, this episode lost 3 stars due to the politics making it less engaging. But the cold open was good enough to make up for the forced politics. I think NBC could've done better, although B99 did a great job tackling social issues in the FOX seasons.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Jake & Amy (2018)
A heartfelt conclusion to the FOX era of Brooklyn 99!!
Don't get the negative reviews!! Jake and Amy had a lot of chemistry here and this episode proves that Season 5 is one of the best seasons of Brooklyn 99! If there was a season checklist for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Season 5 ticks all the superlative boxes: most optimistic tone, best ensemble chemistry, most jokes, best guest stars, best character development, and most humorous insights. Kudos to NBC for picking up the series for season 6 after social media backlash resulting from FOX cancelling the series.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Casecation (2019)
Look this is a real review: this episode will always be the low outlier of an optimistic crime comedy
Although I love Brooklyn 99 and the chemistry between Jake and Amy, I strongly hated how disrespectful Amy was towards Jake after the debate scene. Like, why would you want to have to file a divorce and force someone to respond when they're already feeling a sense of anxiety? Look, I understand that not having kids is a possible dealbreaker in married couples, but there's no reason for Amy to confront Jake about it and offer to bully him into making a decision. If the roles were reversed, the backlash would be 1000x worse as it would be straight up disrespect towards women if Amy were on the receiving end of the treatment. I appreciate how Brooklyn 99 gets woke when it comes to important social issues and maintains a tone and character consistency in each season. Unfortunately, this episode misses the mark from a tone and character perspective. If you're looking for someone to blame with this episode, don't blame Mike Schur. Blame Luke del Tredici. Although his episode The Box remains as one of the best episodes in the series, Casecation proves that Luke Del Tredici has become extremely incompetent when it comes to writing and character direction. I hope NBC fires him when it comes to the production of season 8 and coverage of the Black Lives Matter movement so that Brooklyn 99, my favorite show, won't have to face cancellation due to the George Floyd protests. Even though I like Kevin and Holt in this episode, their appearances are sadly not good enough to make up for the negative tone and the fact that Amy acted out of character. If there was an episode report card for Season Six of Brooklyn 99, "Casecation" would definitely get an F because we know Luke Del Tredici almost wasted Jake and Amy's character developments by ruining the direction he took with Amy in that episode. I am very disappointed to say that for my favorite show, Season Six is my least favorite season and thanks to Casecation, I highly doubt Luke Del Tredici's competence. I always skip that episode whenever I rewatch Brooklyn 99, although I know B99 is rewatchable.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Trying (2020)
Redemption after the worst outlier that was Casecation.
If there was an episode checklist for season 7, this episode would tick all the boxes, actual story development, tactful coverage of subject matter, and a high stakes. Fertility issues are a really difficult topic to tackle in a healthy way, but Trying does a great job of doing so. I'm glad this episode proves that Dan Goor is willing to accept responsibility for the mistakes he did with Amy in the season 6 episode Casecation. People may think Amy was being mean to Jake in Trying, but she was just giving him advice when both were trying to conceive. Plus, the cold open with the rainbow cake is hilarious!! Season 7 is a big pickup from season 6, but not as good as the Fox seasons.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: HalloVeen (2017)
Terry loves yogurt!
Great episode!!! Won't stop belly laughing!! This should definitely be rated higher! Season 5 is one of the best B99 seasons!
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Two Turkeys (2017)
A heartwarming and underrated episode
If there was an episode checklist for season 5, this episode would tick all the boxes: heartwarming and optimistic tone, funny cold open, actual story development, great character arcs and high stakes. Plus, the funny part of the cold open is when Boyle's feather gets stuck in an elevator door. A great belly laugh episode that I would rewatch, and the Peraltiago chemistry gels well here.
13 Reasons Why (2017)
Sick, disrespectful, and an insult to people who are experiencing anxiety and other mental health issues.
13 Reasons Why is legitimately one of the worst Netflix originals that Netflix has to offer as it does nothing to help viewers who are experiencing depression. I'm sick of those 13RW creators who brag about how proud they are, "Oh, we're so proud of what we did." Can they just shut up? Selena Gomez and Brian Yorkey are just condescending fools who have zero respect for the community and violated so many guidelines for tackling suicide in the media. I hate how Netflix is constantly adding depressing garbage that nobody wants to watch like 13 Reasons Why and Insatiable and removing so many iconic classics that people want to watch from its streaming library. Besides Stranger Things and OITNB, the majority of Netflix originals are just skippable trash that Netflix exploits just for money-grabbing purposes. The removal of Friends from the streaming library at the beginning of 2020 has made many Netflix subscribers angry that they were threatening to cancel their Netflix subscriptions as the iconic sitcom departed the streaming service. Nobody wants to waste $14.99 a month on HBO Max just to binge-watch Friends.
13 Reasons Why has sparked an extreme backlash from subscribers for its immature treatment of suicide. In fact, suicide rates have skyrocketed as a result of 13 Reasons Why as 13 Reasons exploits suicide just for entertainment and money grab purposes. Netflix, if you think suicide is entertainment, you're lying. It's sad and must be tackled seriously. 13 Reasons Why is violent, depressing, and simply pessimistic. It's not fair, and shows that disrespect people experiencing mental health issues such as anxiety and depression should definitely be banned from any streaming service.
It would be so much better if 13 Reasons Why was replaced by Brooklyn Nine-Nine in Netflix US as Brooklyn 99, on the other hand, is an optimistic police procedural sitcom with lots of positive messages to offer to viewers. B99 received critical acclaim for its diverse cast, reverent humor, intriguing setting, character development, responsible treatment of real-world issues while still managing to be funny, and breaking gender and race stereotypes.
13 Reasons Why is filled with characters from hell that are awful to know and watch; Bryce Walker & Monty de la Cruz were flat-out mean, Hannah Baker was selfish, and Clay Jensen can definitely be considered egregious. However, although the characters in Brooklyn Nine-Nine have some flaws, they are all nice and loving people (Jake Peralta, Amy Santiago, Terry Jeffords, and Captain Holt) that care about each other. It's nice to see characters with unflappable chemistry who respect each other and go out of their way to help others accomplish tasks. Not to mention, each episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is more entertaining than the previous one. There is comedic consistency, which makes it a worthy show for families to enjoy and binge watch. If Netflix continues to repeat the mistake of adding pessimistic titles to its streaming library just for money-grabbing purposes, so many subscribers will cancel Netflix and burn it to the ground until Ted Sarandos apologizes for being irresponsible for all the backlash his company received. Plus, I've lost respect for Ted Sarandos for not only releasing season 4 in the midst of a pandemic, but for also allowing fools like Brian and Selena to sugarcoat suicide. I would love to see a petition where Brian Yorkey and Ted Sarandos get their contacts terminated so that 13 Reasons Why gets forgotten and burns in hell.
