Old (2021)
Very interesting plot.... Terrible execution
A secret, secluded beach recommended by a resort that makes the people age rapidly and you can't escape? Sounds interesting as hell. This story would have been great in the hands of someone else. If you push yourself through the terrible acting and the bad decisions made by the characters you might actually enjoy the movie. But the thought will always be in the back of your head, "this could have been so much better if M. Night Shyamalan kept his hands off it"
Atlanta: Rich Wigga Poor Wigga (2022)
Donald, please stop
I mean this in the best way possible. After season 2 of Atlanta ended, I was so hyped to see the group tour Europe. But episode... after episode... after episode... there are these stories that have NOTHING to do with the main cast. "Rich Wigga Poor Wigga" has nothing to do with the story and is another episode without our characters. This is an episode you could skip and not miss anything from the main story.
Now, with that being said- these solo episodes are amazing. TRULY, I enjoy the hell out of them. And if you want to continue to make these as a SIDE PROJECT, like some sort of limited anthology series, PLEASE, by all means, do it. I know for sure that I will watch it. I know for sure many people would watch it. If you want to tell these stories, please stop doing it on Atlanta's time. I beg of you dude. I gave this episode a 9 because it's very well written and overall a great episode. But this isn't Atlanta. You are so frustrating.
Tl;dr another brilliant, awesome, but solo episode that has nothing to do with the Atlanta storyline and doesn't involve any of our main characters.
Better Call Saul: Axe and Grind (2022)
Another slow one... but...
They really know how to build up the suspense. If you know Breaking Bad and the 5 previous seasons of Better Call Saul, you know that there are slow episodes with scenes that might seem pointless, but it's all building up to something. Very excited and worried to see what "D-Day" is. I have a feeling s*** is about to hit the fan. Rhea Seehorn shines as usual, and we get to see some more Francesca.
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On (2022)
Toxic, Terrible, Brain Dead
I'm 5 episodes in and this show is absolutely terrible. I'm convinced that the couples who agreed to go on this show are only in it for the money and don't actually care about each other to begin with. The entirety of the show takes place in ONE week. Yes, these couples are risking their relationships (some 2 to 3 years in) to date numerous people for one week and decide if a stranger they just met on a reality show could be "the one". The premise of this show is terrible and this is something you'd expect to see on a failed idea board for MTV. I'm going to finish the remaining episodes so I can update my review, but I literally feel like I've lost IQ points watching this. I believe the ideal target audience for this show are high school girls.
American Horror Stories: Rubber (Wo)man: Part One (2021)
Abysmal
I'm giving this 4 stars just because the story for the first two-parter episode was decent, but the acting is truly horrendous. We get brought back to a familiar place, which was nice for long time AHS fans. But I didn't find myself caring for any of the main characters. They lacked charisma and any redeeming qualities. So the entire time watching this I was just hoping they were going to die in the next scene. Since each episode for this series is a different story, I really hope I don't see these same actors pop up again. I'm disappointed in these first two, but I'm keeping a little hope that this show proves me wrong in the future episodes.
