One Piece: Wan pîsu (1999)
A complex and moving story
Before I started One Piece I wondered why it was so highly rated. I thought the animation was goofy looking, and it just looked too silly. After watching about 50 episodes, I began to understand. It's a goofy show but has many heavy subjects, like corrupt governments and government conspiracies and discrimination. The main protagonist has a lot of personality and he's unique from other shounen MCs. If you enjoy epic stories that involve a lot of adventure, you'll most likely enjoy One Piece. I also love that a huge theme in the show is found family and friendship. My only complaint about the show is the pacing. Every One Piece enjoyer will say that the pacing is awful. There aren't a lot of filler episodes, but to compensate, there are many episodes and arcs that are simply much too dragged out. Therefore, you will have to sit through a lot of boring moments. But in my opinion, and evidently many others', the story is worth it. There's also the matter of over-sexualization of female characters, which as a female fan myself, is a little disappointing. However, tragically, this is very normalized in anime. Aside from this, it really is a great story and I urge every shounen enjoyer to give One Piece a try.
Boku no hîrô akademia THE MOVIE: Wârudo Hîrôzu Misshon (2021)
Good, wholesome movie
Overall, this movie was great. For fans of MHA I would say it's very well worth watching. Somehow, this movie made me love Deku in particular even more than I already did.
It was funny and action packed, as to be expected. The new characters are very likable, the animation is fantastic, only a couple parts were a bit hard to follow because of frames per second. I will say that near the end it started to get a little repetitive, and there was some cheesy dialogue, though that's also to be expected I suppose. I also wish we saw a bit more of class 1-A. Other than that, it was really enjoyable. There were a lot of wholesome moments and comedic scenes; those were my favorite parts to be honest.
The Dragon Prince (2018)
There are many reasons to love this show
This show is full of heart and those who like fantasy will likely love this show. The reasons I don't give it a 10/10 are because 1. I really dislike Rayla's accent. The actress who does her voice is not Scottish, and you can tell. After a while of watching, I got used to it. 2. The humor can fall flat sometimes. 3. The first two seasons of the show are a bit slow, but season 3 really picks it up. But enough of the negatives... I love the diversity of characters represented in this show. There are homosexual couples, characters of various skin tones, and a deaf character. The characters are very lovable and I got attached to them quickly. The plot is easy to become invested in, at least it was for me. Finally, world and character building are top notch in season three and I'm highly anticipating the continuation of the show.
