Gangs of New York (2002)
The best was at the beginning
I loved these movie saw it tree times. However, though i thought the movie was very well done i was kinda disappointed. The beginning of the film was just so well done the rest of the movie just didn't add up. But it was still one of the greatest movies i've seen all year. My Favorite scene had to be Bill the Butcher crying of the poor innocent little rabbit. That was Priceless.****
Jason X (2001)
it's jason, what did you expect
i thought the movie was great for what it was, a cheesy outdated horror flick. at times the movie was actually petty funny,(the sleeping bag scene for instance was hilarious). Yes the script was stupid, and the plot went no where, but who goes to a Friday the 13th movie thinking it's going win a oscar. Jason X is just another of those pointless movies you watch over and over again a slumber parties.
Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills (1996)
painful...haunting...chilling...
This documentary left me speechless. It is a documentary based on the brutal murders of three Memphis 2nd graders in a wooded area known as Robin Hood Hills. The film is mostly interviews with the family's of the victims and of the accused. While I feel for the family of the victims I think they were looking for someone to blame, and that they didn't really care about the truth. While the accused were not the most wholesome of youths that does not mean there murders. The only evidence the police had linking these boys to the crime was a confession by one of the there accused. Who happens to have a I.Q. of 75. The confession was filled with holes and impossibilities. Plus, the accused was interrogated 2 hours before the police even turned the tape recorder on. I can not see how these three boys were indicted, let alone found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
The Joyriders (1999)
Heartfelt.
I thought "The Joyriders" was a heart felt movie. While its not going to make you cry, it does warm you to the characters . The movie is a little too sappy at parts. I thought however that Elisabeth Moss acted very well in her part. I would have liked to find out what happened to Cam and Crystal though.
Freeway (1996)
Greatest movie.
This dark comedy is one of the greatest I have ever seen. The movie was outragous. Reese Witherspoon did a great job as "Lutz". The fact that the main character was not a sweet innocent little child was excellent. The whole little red riding hood theme was kind of cool too. I really enjoyed this movie and I think every one should see it.
Dune (2000)
I dumbed down version of the book.
This movie was a sad adaptation of Frank Herberts Dune. It was a shame. The 6-hour long semi-series does bring more parts to the movie. But it barely touches on the complexities that is Dune. It like they dumbed the movie down for the people who didn't bother to read the book. The freman are not even wearing stilsuits half the time. the affects were laughable. What was up with the freman's eyes some were not even blue. The film was not consisted. Also I can't believe the are going to skip dune messiah and go straight to making a children of dune.
Bound by Honor (1993)
A true movie that displays honor in relationship to the streets.
This was a good movie. It had the true life telling of "Boys In The Hood", while showing a bit more sense of honor, pride, and bravery relating to the street that you usually can't find in movies. The acting was a bit overdone, but it doesn't take away from the film.
