Secretary (2002)

Secretary is a unique movie that I had a good time watching. The scenery is boring but full of color at the same time, in a way that fits the story. The comedy isn't overdone and it lets each watcher find the joke for themselves, without explicitly stating it. The two main leads have so much chemistry and their scenes together are enjoyable to watch. This movie is about two weirdos, two outsiders that don't seem to quiet fit society's standards, come together. It is a beautiful story that I recommend you watch. Some scenes did get a little too weird for my liking, but I think that's the point. Two people accepting each other's flaws and uncomfortable quirky traits. 7/10 as the story was pretty simple, nothing memorable.

The Woman King (2022)

The Woman King is such a well made movie.

The story telling was powerful and didn't promote some woman>man agenda. It showed how women could have a purpose beyond marriage and how they could have trauma and still be strong. The movie wasn't afraid to injure or kill characters off, making the steaks higher and the story more intense. The romance was sweet but wasn't cliche, the ending for the couple wasn't something I expected. The main character actually worked hard to be where they were and wasn't just some Mary Sue. I do wish we got to see more of the other warriors Nawi grew up with during the final battle and the world-building could've been done better, but that's just a nitpick on my part. This story had so much to say and I love that. I definitely recommend. It's action-packed, intense, emotional and educational as well.

HOWEVER, DESPITE all this, the story is completely inaccurate. I hate how it erases the true history of black on black slavery. When people watch this movie they'll think it's the complete true story when it's not. It would've received a higher rating if they used a fake tribe and made up names, unfortunately they decided to use actual historical figures.

Fresh (2022)

Wasn't Bad

I watched this movie with some pretty high expectations. I absolutely adore the actors of the two main leads, and the plot sounded promising. I may have been slightly disappointed by how things turned out, but it was still a fun movie to watch. I was leaning on the edge of my seat wondering when things were going to go wrong. It did use some overplayed tropes like the villain having a soft spot for one of the girls because she's "special". That did take away from the story but Noa was a wonderful character to watch so it didn't bug me too much. I do also wish we learned more about the organization Steve was with and how he got into cannibalism. The story lacked character depth, horror and the ending was fast paced. Multiple characters were underused or just useless. This movie isn't anything special, just a slight thriller with comedy elements that made it fun to watch. 6/10.

Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022)

Bodies Bodies Bodies was surprisingly a pretty good movie. The story was highly suspenseful, and when you think you know who the killer is, the story just seems to find a way to twist that around. I love how it slowly revealed the secrets of each character and how messed up their friendship really is. It's nothing groundbreaking but nonetheless, fun to watch. The only thing that bothered me was how long they were able to keep their flashlights on without their phone going dead, but that's just a nitpick on my end. It did also get overly sexual at times but it's nothing that took me out the story. I don't think this needed to be a horror as it was nothing scary expect for one jump scare. As for the comedy aspects, there wasn't anything that made me laugh but it wasn't bad.

Cowboy Bebop (1998–1999)

Words can't describe how raw this show felt. The characters, the settings, the atmosphere, the emotion, every aspect of this show felt real despite being a sci-fi. The emotions that were conveyed managed to land in every way. The relationships between the characters were strong and it genuinely hurt when they were in conflict with each other. Edward wasn't in the show for that long but I still felt the pain of when she left. Sure, this story was hard to follow at times and I found myself playing it in the background. To say, however, that this show was bad would be a big disgrace. I can see why people hyped this show up because it really is that good and it gives you real life lessons. I just found some episodes hard to care about . Some could be highly suspenseful while others fell flat or repetitive. I do love how it's episodic, it's a nice show to watch when you're bored. I'll give it a 7/10, it did take me a while to finish watching but I don't regret it. I definitely recommend.

Nope (2022)

Alright

I don't understand why people hate this movie so much. It had a promising start and great characters. Emerald is shown as carefree, slightly reckless but filled with passion. Oj is a stoic character who's persistent about continuing his father's horse legacy and taking care of his family. Sure, Angel was a bit of a comic relief but the story wouldn't feel complete without him. The plot did get confusing at times, especially the storyline with the monkey. I didn't really understand what purpose the monkey served in the story. The motives of the alien was also confusing, why did the alien still attack even when the characters stopped looking at it? I was left with a few questions but the premise was good, the horror was promising, the jokes landed, and it was overall a good story. I love how the ending left us wondering how everything turned out. 7/10, though this story may not be for everyone.

Turning Red (2022)

This movie was pretty enjoyable. It's nice to see some diversity that doesn't feel forced. The main characters are likable and have very distinct personalities. Sure there are some stereotypical tropes but it's played for humor and I think it works really well. I noticed that some complained about how over the top it was but the message was still well conveyed, at least in the beginning. My only problem is the middle and end. The characters started to feel 2 dimensional and the plot felt rushed. The message of the story was beautiful and heart-warming I wish they just stuck something more emotional instead of a big monster fight.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022)

Good But Nothing Special

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore was a fairly good movie. If you watch this movie as a separate entity from Harry Potter, I guarantee that you'd like it much better. A lot of the logic in this movie didn't correlate with the main series but it worked in a way that wasn't too bothersome. The music went pretty well with each scene but it didn't stand out in a meaningful way. The special effects and fight scenes were very outstanding, maybe even better than the other prequels. The plot wasn't bad but it also wasn't anything special. It felt like a simple hero story with no effect. The goals of the main villain should've been explored more; the movie would've been 3x better if we explored the origin of Grindelwald's prejudices. Nevertheless, the plot's pacing wasn't bad and it was enough to make the movie satisfying. All I can give this movie is a 6/10 because of its simplicity. I do recommend that you watch and see it for yourself because it was still enjoyable in many ways.

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)

This movie was absolutely amazing. I don't know what else to say but wow. The humor was gold. All of the jokes landed and were well placed. The dynamic between the 3 Spider-Mans felt so real and familiar; The chemistry these three actors had was amazing. The plot wasn't complicated and I felt like each villain got their time to shine. Nothing felt rushed, everything just flowed. I don't mind Doctor Otto being a hero but it did take away a little bit of the heros time to shine. Nevertheless this movie was really good and I do recommend it.

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts (2022 TV Special)

I may not have grew up watching Harry Potter or reading the books but this franchise has changed my life. I feel like I grew up with each of the cast members in just the span of a few days. When I first picked up and Harry Potter book in 1st grade it wasn't really my type, I'm so glad that I gave it another chance because it turned out to be some of the best times of my life. Seeing the movies then going back to the book kinda helps you visualize what is happening. The movies did such a great job in capturing the feelings from the books.

ACTUAL REVIEW

This reunion movie was fantastic, seeing all the actors get together after not seeing each other for years was beautiful. All the flashbacks were good and even the classical music was beautiful. Please watch this and watch Harry Potter too.

Encanto (2021)

Had Potential

The soundtrack, imagery and the message that they were trying to bring across were all very good. I just don't like how fast paced the ending was. The climax lasted about 2 minutes and the resolution lasted about 10. There was no time for the characters to process the conflict and come up with a solution. I expected this movie to be a family adventure, there could've been more that they explored with the beautiful scenery that they had. Overall this movie wasn't that bad but the second half of the movie got really boring and fast.

True Beauty (2020–2021)

LOVE IT

I'm a little late to finish the show but I absolutely loved it. The original webtoon did include a lot more but I like the way they were able to keep some of the stuff from the original while adding their own little twist to it. This show can be corny at times but I like it, it feels like an actual comic story. The romance is well developed and really good. I like how they displayed the message of loving yourself. The makeup the character wore wasn't the problem; the problem was that we didn't love how she looked without it. The show is about learning to accepting who you are. This show not only had funny scenes but a lot of emotional ones as well. I do recommend if you'd like to watch a fun well written romance comedy drama.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)

Different And Memorable

This movie has a very good start. We were properly introduced to the characters and the tone was pretty light hearted and funny. The fights had good choreography for the most part, some of them did go on a bit too long but it wasn't that bad. The characters are very distinct and are well written. The humor was actually funny for the most part but it felt out of place at times. The plot wasn't too bad, it made sense and didn't have any noticeable plot holes. The only problem I have with this movie is how weak the buildup was to the big fight, it really took a lot of excitement away from it. Nevertheless, the fight was still very good. I do recommend that you watch this movie it is very fun, emotional and something to remember.

Dune (2021)

Fascinating

I can not explain how much I love this movie! The visuals and cinematography are amazing! The plot is isn't predictable at all but it's also very clear at the same time. It's hard to miss what the movie is about. The action is exciting and raw and the relationships between the characters are realistic. I'll admit the movie did lose me at some parts but if you really pay attention, everything will make sense. This movie is slow-paced and I kinda like that about it, it probably should have been a show instead of a movie so the pacing would be better.

I do recommend that you watch this movie if you like an action packed mystery. This movie will have you on the edge of your seat!

Forgotten (2017)

AMAZING AND FULL OF TWISTS

I'm not going to lie I thought this film was going to be another film about people taking over other people's bodies but I was proved wrong. The plot is unpredictable, this movie has proved every single one of my theories wrong. The ending was emotional and it left all of my questions answered. I recommend this movie so much, it gave me chiils.

What If...?: What If... Ultron Won? (2021) Season 1, Episode 8

SOOO GOOD

I love the zombie apocalypse vibe this episode gives (we'll replace zombies with robots). I loved the way this episode showed the dynamic between Natasha and Clint, something we didn't receive much of in the movies. Ultron was a very very good villain this episode, almost better than Thanos, even the watcher was in trouble. This episode is on the same level as the doctor strange one. I also really liked how a villain like Zola ended up saving the world and how the watcher is someone we can now sympathize with. My only problem is the fact that this episode kinda makes the MCU confusing now. In the TVA the stones are useless but outside the multi-verse they're not? Honestly this episode is a solid 9/10, they also did a really good job in the emotional scenes.

Speak (2004)

Beautiful

Speak is a very emotional film about a girl struggling to speak up about a very traumatic thing that has happened to her. I love the art teacher and how he helped encourage the main character to find her voice, and the brave guy, Dave. They really add heart to the story. The performances of the actors was really good everyone gave their all. I especially love the sullen vibe the story gives. I wish they added more to the story because some scenes did feel a bit unnecessary but who cares this movie is good anyway. The soundtrack really fit the movie as well.

This episode was pretty enjoyable but underwhelming. Tony was a bit nerfed, the way kilmonger fooled everyone was a bit unrealistic. Black panther died way too easily and Tony. Plus the ending wasn't that exciting.

Enola Holmes (2020)

This movie wasn't that great. The main character Enola Homles is just a quirky Mary Sue with no real failures or flaws. The character doesn't have a real struggle and when she does it's all solved. The second lead is just another boring guy to make the main character look better, at least he was actually smart and not comic relief. He just had no depth to his character. It would've been better if the male lead died at the end but instead he didn't and it made the story so unrealistic. Even the reveal about the mother was bad and underwhelming. There were no stakes in this movie and everything worked out in the end. If you look past all of those things it's a pretty okay movie but this movie is just another example of cringe feminism. The actors were great though.

Empire (2015–2020)

Good show

I've watched this show for a long time, ever since it first came out. It was something my family and I watched each time it came on the tv. This show is really emotional and full of juicy drama. At times the storyline got annoying but every show has its flaws. While the ending of the show wasn't strong, this show is still one of the best shows there is.

What If...?: What If... Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands? (2021) Season 1, Episode 4

BRILLIANT

I was hooked less than 10 minutes in. This episode has been the best so far. The dialog was very emotional. They did a good job in selling the fact that Doctor Strange has indeed lost his heart. We emphasize with the character and it's beautiful. They managed the pacing really well and I always love the colors and aesthetic of these series. The action scenes were very intriguing and Wong is always pleasant to see. The best part of this episode was the ending, I can't even explain in words how meaningful it was. Please go ahead and watch it, it was so good! The only problem I had was the animation and voice acting of the ancient one, but it was tolerable.

He's All That (2021)

I'll admit this movie did get a bit cliche at times but it wasn't bad. It felt like I was watching a Disney movie. I do like the message of the movie and the chemistry between the actors was great. I do recommend if you want a cute and cheesy love story.

What If...?: What If... Captain Carter Were the First Avenger? (2021) Season 1, Episode 1

I gave this 8 stars because it's not bad, it's a fun tv show. Steve was amazing in this episode, even the little guys can save the world. Bucky was a bit too much of comic relief, hopefully they fix that. My only problems are the fact that the pacing is too fast and when it's too fast the emotional parts of the story don't feel emotional. I also noticed that sometimes the voice acting sounded lazy in some of the characters.

The Suicide Squad (2021)

This movie was actually pretty entertaining, if you just view it as a fun action film you'll love it. If you view it as a dc universe film that'll contribute to future films then I don't think you'll like it much because this movie felt like it didn't take itself as seriously. I absolutely loved Harley Quinn in this movie, her actions scenes were so good, it had me on the edge of my seat. I was sitting there impressed and in awe, Harley truly felt like herself here. The outfit and the hair was a good upgrade, I love that the crew didn't need to save her. Bloodsport was alright, I liked that he had a conflicted relationship with his daughter. It's not something I see in many hero films. I LOVED ratcatcher, her character was really sweet and a bit naive. I wasn't annoyed with her character at all and I loved the backstory this character had. The character John Cena played was interesting, at times his jokes fell flat but I loved the twist that happened to his character at the end, it was really good. Lastly, I liked that rick flag wasn't just a love interest in this movie. He had an actual personality and I really liked it. He became this really interesting character and I like it.

King shark is an adorable gem I love him, that's it. The villain was a bit underwhelming, I loved the big fight at the end but the villain wasn't all that interesting. I just wasn't feeling the conflict.

Overview: If you're looking for an action, comedy with some funny jokes and some and jokes, I recommend. This movie may not be for everyone but I enjoyed it entertainment wise. If I were a hardcore DC fan I'd rate it a 4 probably because it doesn't fit universe wise.
