Tell Me Lies (2022)
Accurate Representation of a Charming Narcissist
If anyone has ever gotten involved with one of these charming, manipulative, and narcissistic guys at a young age, this show will be so relatable to you in every way. A very accurate depiction of what I went through with someone around the age of 19 and it brought back all of the feels. The show isn't amazing, and it's a bit slow at times, but it's interesting overall. A wonderful show for late teens/young adults to watch in order to learn the warning signs of these toxic "relationships" and how people can affect you for years or even a lifetime. A bad person with an immense amount of charm is dangerous.
Devil in Ohio (2022)
Amazing Show, Halloween Vibes, Wrong Genre
I absolutely LOVED this show. I looked forward to every episode and my boyfriend enjoyed it as well. I think the negative reviews are because it is labeled "horror" and it is not quite that. It is spooky however and a great show to watch around Halloween to get into the spirit. Even has a few Halloween themed episodes. Good acting, great scenery, entertaining storyline. Will be re-watching next October and I look forward to the next season. Some people are so overly critical of tv and movies. The point is to be entertained, and my partner and I were entertained every step of the way with this series!
Jeepers Creepers: Reborn (2022)
New Twist on the Original. Entertaining, but Not Great
I think what a lot of people writing 1 star reviews don't realize is that this was not meant to be a "Jeepers Creepers 4". It is part 1 in a new version of the series, that is meant to be modernized and different from the originals. It's definitely not an amazing film, but it is entertaining enough. I would say it is on par with other scary movies that have come out recently. It's not as good as the first Jeepers Creepers movie, but it is way better than the 3rd.
Some things I liked/disliked:
Liked: 1. I liked the idea of the addition of the witch cult and adding another spooky element. However, I don't think they developed that storyline enough. Hopefully they will do more with that in the future.
2. Loved the Halloween environment. Put me in the spirit of the holiday.
3. Loved the intro that payed tribute to the original film before taking its own turn.
Disliked: 1. The ending left something to be desired. It was anti-climactic. IDK what was up with the girls demon eyes in the end either. That was confusing.
2. I found the chasing through the house scene to be drawn out and it could have been way scarier in my opinion if they had ACTUALLY been in some kind of escape room that they couldn't get out of and where not on the creeper was present, but the cult members. I feel like they really missed an opportunity here.
3. Did they even play the Jeepers Creepers original song? I don't think they did....wish they had put that in the intro and outro for added nostalgia.
Overall, it is worth a watch. Take it for what it is and it will be enjoyable. Don't ever expect a modernized version of a classic movie to be as good.
Hubie Halloween (2020)
So Festive and Wholesome
I don't understand why this doesn't have better reviews. This is such an enjoyable Halloween film. It is festive, wholesome, and has just the right mix of comedy, mystery, and even a little suspense to give it a great Halloween vibe. There aren't many Halloween films that are actually focused around Halloween and not just horror in general. This is the perfect movie to get you in the Halloween spirit. I especially love the scenery with all of the Halloween decor and fall leaves! This film was thoroughly enjoyable and rewatchable. I will be watching this every October! A lot of people hate on Adam Sandler and I get that his roles aren't exactly unique, but that doesn't take away form how enjoyable this film is. We need more Halloween movies like this one!!!!
Happy Death Day 2 U (2019)
All Over The Place
I enjoyed the first film even though it was mediocre. This sequel was one of those films that is watchable only because you feel the need to keep rooting for the characters. Other than that, it's awful. It's not horror, slasher, thriller, or comedy. It fails at all of them. I would say it mostly a Sci-Fi action film. This movie was plain weird.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Sort of good in its own way (not really), but not scary at all.
The marketing department failed horribly for promoting this season. I recently saw an ad that said this was scarier than the first. FALSE! I wasn't scared once and I'm a total wimp. It's a house with a few friendly ghosts and is mainly a love story. It is slow, repetitive, a little confusing, and kind of rips off the first season of American Horror Story with one of it's concepts. I think this would have been good as a movie instead of a 9 hour long shows. I was actually getting frustrated because I just wanted it to end already. Also, the little girl was so freaking annoying. I don't know who thought that character was a good idea. If this season was meant to focus on love instead of horror, they should have promoted it as such.
Dark (2017)
Amazingly intricate writing......but SO DRAWN OUT!
I do not know how this show has such high ratings. The writing is amazing in some aspects. You can tell they had this whole story line planned out from the beginning. The show also has great visuals and sound affects. That being said, the show is excruciatingly slow and pretty boring. I wanted to know what happened, but at the same time I was not excited to watch it to find out. The show was simply too drawn out and also pretty confusing. If you are going to watch it, make sure you pay close attention. This is not a show that you can multitask while watching. Overall, while I appreciate the intricate storyline, this show is just not nearly as entertaining as so many others out there.
Riverdale (2017)
great first season. but terrible after that
I loved the first season of Riverdale. I had such high hopes. The second season was decent as well, but after that it went downhill fast. This show is now a hot mess. It seems like the writers have no idea what to do with the storyline. It is all over the place, boring, drawn out, and confusing. I love the actors, but even they cannot save how bad the writing has became. It appears from interviews that even the actors are embarrassed with how bad this show has become.
In the Dark (2019)
A Masterpiece
This is truly one of my favorite shows of all time, and I watch way too much television. Everything about this show is amazing. it has top-notch acting, good storylines, depth, suspense, twists, comedy, a cute dog, and attractive actors. I cannot wait for the next season. If you are considering watching this, do it!!
The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020)
Not nearly as good as the first, but still entertaining.
I was pretty disappointed in this film because I LOVED the first one. I enjoy horror comedies and thought the first Babysitter film was seriously underrated. To me, this sequel was trying too hard and become a little too ridiculous at times. It didn't flow as well as the first one and had some truly cringe worthy moments. It was still entertaining and worth the watch. There were a few good twists along the way. I was honestly REALLY upset that they made his neighbor that was so sweet in the first movie end up evil in this one though.....I could have done without that. It just didn't seem believable that she would have changed that much in such a short amount of time without any reasonable explanation.
The Babysitter (2017)
An underrated Horror Comedy!
This is a must-watch if you are a fan of horror comedies. It reminds me of a lot of cult classics. This film is seriously under rated. Horror comedies are not appreciated by everyone, but is a home-run for the genre. Not meant to be taken seriously. but still very entertaining.
Oscuro deseo (2020)
Thrilling from beginning to end.
I am shocked by how many bad reviews this show has. I thought it was extremely entertaining. It was so intriguing to me that I actually made it through an entire season of a show just reading subtitles, which I never do. I do agree that they could cut back on the sex scenes, but by the third episode the plot is excellent. I was never bored and was shocked by many things that happened throughout the series. The main actors were very attractive and did a great job in their roles. I hope Netflix gives us another season.
The Assistant (2019)
Literally Nothing Happens
I kept waiting for this to get better, but literally NOTHING happens. It has eerie music that makes you feel like there will be some crazy ending or twist but nope. Nothing. If you want to watch an intern work and be treated poorly for 90 minutes then this is the movie for you. Otherwise, watch literally anything else!
