Eye in the Sky (2015)
BS
What a load of BS. Do the US or British government or military give a FK for a Somali child's life, when they have a terrorist in sight for a strike? I don't think so.
And the Americans would have already killed them while the British are dithering about the strike.
Anek (2022)
Load of BS
The main issue affecting the North east now is the uncontrolled immigration from Bangladesh. Why is that not shown in the movie? It does not suit the directors agenda.
Ludo (2020)
Lower your expectations
It starts off well but then loses stream quickly. Could have been so much better with a tighter script. Pankaj Tripathi shines, Abhishek and Rajkummar are good but others mediocre.
Badhaai Do (2022)
Falls flat,
There is a scene where the heroine does not want to see his chest, another in which the hero recoils when the heroine offers a hand to help him up.
This is not how gay or lesbians are. They are not afraid to touch or see the other sexs bodies, it's just that it does not do anything to them.
In fact gay people are more touchy-feely than normal men.
Vir Das: For India (2020)
Where is the comedy?
Just talking irrelevant stuff and putting down Indians. Even the audience wasn't laughing. Guy is full of himself. Could not relate to most of the stuff he was talking about.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Too Long
Action scenes are good but story is lame and movie is 1/2 hour too long. I was bored 1/2 way through. Nothing much in the second half other than usual action scenes and predictable story.
No Time to Die (2021)
Tired
Not the best Bond Movie. The villain is not menacing. Action scenes seem like repeat from other movies. Movie is too long. Not involving.
Nobody Speak: Trials of the Free Press (2017)
Who will monitor the press?
The press itself has destroyed numerous lives and can make and break governments and influence decisions, hence powerful people want a piece of it. I can see that in the way the Western liberal media have been denouncing India with their partisan reporting.
Amit Tandon: Family Tandoncies (2019)
Good if you like some clean comedy
I have to admit I love his comedy and can relate to it. Not his best work but quite good. If you are married and between 30 and 60 you can relate to it and have a few good laughs. Amit Tandon is the best comic in India right now, nobody else even comes close.
One Mic Stand (2019)
Amazon must have it's head struck in sand
Or up someone's ass, there is absolutely no comedy. A bunch of flop actors and comedians not even trying to do comedy. I'd have called them a bunch of Jokers but they don't even deserve that. Your time is more valuable than Amazon's money. Save yourself from the torture.
1917 (2019)
Underwhelming
There have been a lot of war movies, so if someone has to do a new movie the standards have to be high. Although it scores well in cinematography the story is quite weak and the pace is extremely slow. Overall you get the feeling why did they bother?
Chhapaak (2020)
What a letdown
I'm not going to lie, I'm a leftist liberal. My friends all went to Tanahji but as Deepika has stood by our cause I decided to show my support to her too and went to Chhapak. It's a emotive story but unfortunately it has been given the Bollywood treatment which makes it cringeworthy at times. There are a few highs but they are few and far between. Deepika is a mainstream Bollywood actress who excels in glamorous roles but perhaps a different director and actress would have made this a much better movie.
Comicstaan (2018)
What a joke
Agreed the Indian comic scene is nascent but seriously the level of stand ups is absymally low compared to UK and US stand ups who are genuinely funny. As an Indian I hope Amazon not rely on these losers to come up with any good content.
