Pevacica (2021)
Great show - a lot better than most drivel that Hollywood makes nowadays
Which can be expected in a way since she is in fact, a singer. The story seems as if it's true - about what goes on in the music industry. Why so many negative reviews about this show? Beats me. I've seen much worse material that cost about 20 million dollars.... like JLO's new project for example.
The story is really good, script wise it has a great pace & caches ur attention. If the words "Based on a true story" appeared before every episode, it wouldn't be a surprise. I love the fact that they incorporated esoteric elements, dark magic & what a person is ready to do in order to make it in the industry.
For those criticizing this show, remember: it's made in Europe, it can't be compared to Hollywood BUT we've seen faaaaaar worse from hollywood, so give this show a chance, the story is quite good.
The Greatest Love Story Never Told (2024)
Ridiculous. The many reviews are right: Utterly Ridiculous.
JLO is absolutely what everyone said she is: egotistical, very rude to her team, and to Ben.
Everyone told her not to do this, and not to do the idiotic nonsensical movie either, and she did both!!
No one even knew this was coming out, and I'm half way watching this and the rumor I heard in the industry is very true: She is paying Ben to be with her / appear to be with her, because she couldn't handle another engagement cancelled, with A Rod, who, like all others, cheated on her. She also knew that what she did in the club with diddy will come to bite her in the butt one day, so she concocted this perfect PR story of how their love story is one for the ages, when in fact, it's all a lie.
Everyone is right. This is het DOWNFALL. Everything is coming out - she used Ashanti's vocals and other women's, she cannot sing, she completely ignored her children in both projects, she's rude to people around her and her friends, she's done for.
Griselda (2024)
Vergara can't act.30mins in and I'm bored
And I know the story of Griselda, so that's very hard to do. The woman was something else - gripping, ruthless and u can tell just by one look at her body language, eyes, movements, tone, hair, make up. Vergara did NONE of that & I'm 30 mins in. Already very bored. Watched many documentaries about Griselda and she was a whole other woman, formidable and u can tell, just through the screen.
Vergara was never a good actress but at least, thankfully, she does not have her voice in this. I won't continue beyond the first episode, as I said, 30 mins already passed and Im so bored. They should have looked at the movie Blow for inspiration about how to do a project about a real person. This is too slow and very unconvincing.
May December (2023)
Dreadful. Slow. Boring. Uninventful. Dull. Mood killer
I have absolutely no idea how i got through 3/4 of the movie & I had to stop. Nothing was happening - it was like watching a terrible high school play, even those are better than this "piece of art". What happened to natalie portman? She was phenomenal in the other boleyn girl, v for vendetta, the black swan & after no strings attached.. nothing. Nothing at least i heard of (i do not consider superhero movies as movies for adults). The other actress had some good movies as well & now ... this. As I said, I didn't even finish the movie, I have no idea how i even got through most of it. It was waaaay to slow, too dull, too boring. Wasted talent. Wasted money for sure.
The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe (2015)
Someone like Gal Gadot is a millionaire, while this actress..
Isn't getting any prominent roles. Someone explain this to me please. I read the book before I watched this, but even if I didn't, as an avid Marilyn Monroe fan, she has done her justice. It isn't the first time something like this has been done, but previous actresses were almost like caricatures - they would over do not only Marilyn's tone, but the way she moved her lips while speaking. It always ended up looking comedic, rather than real. This actress did it all, made u cry and feel sorry for Marilyn with only one look or movement, without any words - she played Marilyn's vulnerability with perfection.
Succession (2018)
Jeremy Strong has 1 face for:anger, happiness,worry,sadness..how is he the protagonist?
For a show that has 2 of it's main characters quite unlikable - one 100 year old, foul mouth, 24/7 shouting, toxic angry old man & his son whose body language is quite bizarre and the same in every project he does, but what's even more strange is for a show with a great pace, cast and script they chose an actor who literally has 1 facial expression, and when in a t-shirt makes us the viewers worry about the state of his neck and perhaps should go and get it check because something isnt right there. How is it honestly possible for Strong to be the main character? When he's furious he looks the same, when he's happy, he looks the same, when he's worried, he looks the same, when he's sad he looks the same - honestly it's confusing for a show this good to leave the main character space for jeremy strong because as much as I love the rest of the cast & the script and pace is great, watching him makes me lose interest in the entire thing, Until thankfully, someone else comes in the scene.
Shotgun Wedding (2022)
If that's JLo, then whose pictures are on instagram?
JLo definitely must have manipulated, black mailed, threatened the casting director to let her get this role because she thinks she's in her late 20's still & although the filters on instagram make her look nice, in real life, she is actually her age. I dont know how she didnt think before doing this - it's completely ridiculous, totally miscast and incredibly cringe. As far as the dialogue goes, I think it was written by a 12 year old. I think she was watching a lot of old movies & she's trying to do physical comedy (like Marilyn Monroe) but she just looks very masculine and very uncomfortable. Cant believe people actually agreed to invest their time in such a huge flop. Jennifer, u are closer to 60 than 25. Wake up!
Beef (2023)
It's a good show, but incredibly frustrating.
The first few minutes of the show, I wanted to turn it off - the beep beep beep for 5 mins is super annoying, but once u mute that & pass that, the show is good...apart from the intro paintings of patches of human skin, creepy bizarre creatures... The script is good and so is the pace, but thought the series u are always frustrated & waiting for something to go right, even if it's a green light at the traffic light. U are on edge, but not the good kinda edge like Peaky Blinders - this is the edge that u have in ur life & u want to get rid of it ASAP. The main female character is the actress who is the same in every movie, series she does - robotic body language, kinda like a female keanu reeves. All in all it's a good show, but definitely not recommended for unwinding, relaxing because u're constantly wishing for something positive & it's just not happening.
Obsession (2023)
Oh My God, this is terrible!
Who ever cast these actors together must not like their job very much! The chemistry is all off! The story is terrible - how can one become obsessed by someone in an extremely short period of time? And for the other person to be very interested as well?? It's like there's a chunk missing from the story! I dont understand why make a show with sex scenes and then have the most akwardly filmed sex scenes I've ever seen! For inspiration, perhaps they should have watched Unfaithful, or Original Sin or the newly released Florida Man, or Out Of Time with Denzel - THAT'S chemistry, not only during the sex scenes, but from start to finish. The scenes where I laughed out loud (I just watched 2 episodes I think) is when he's trying to look handsome by lying down on hardwood floors lmao it just did not work. Mr. Big and Carrie did it in Sex and The City, and they actually looked like they just had sex, this guy didnt even have 1 beed of sweat. I dont know what kind of sex life the actors have, but the simulated thrusting was so embarrassing and cringe. I really had second hand embarrassment. I really dont know what's worse - the acting, casting, chemistry, story or script? Someone wanted to launder money or just loves massive loss of time and money. Awful. Just awful.
Joe vs Carole (2022)
Did Carole produce this? Her zoo in real life is basically animal abuse!
The casting is good, but when the truth is stranger than fiction and when the documentary was as insane as it was, something needed to be done here to make it worth ur time to watch it, It really didnt. I'm just on episode one, half way, and im already bored. Kate is ok as Carole, she should have done more work to prepare for the character; get her voice right, her eye make up, should have worn a fat suit because Carol was fit in her 20's, not anymore. The actor portraying Joe's first boyfriend (later husband) is not suppose to have teeth...! I cant believe Carole's place is regarded as a sanctuary - it should be shut down! The poor animals are in awful, cheap, old areas with a fence not even fit for a doberman, and they're all rusty. She uses people by promising a great experience, they do manual labour and she does not pay them! Isn't that against the law? Even if they want to do it? The sociopath "doc antle" should be in prison for breeding lions and tigers and creating his own species of huge cats, called ligers. Really? One would think that if all these things are available for all to see that something should have happened. Carole is exploiting not only animals, but people as well, bagavan or whatever his name is is a sick polygamist who sleeps with teenagers and makes them live in tiny houses with cockroaches, working 16 hour shifts without a day off - we've all heard the lady in the documentary. All in all I dont understand why they wasted time doing this, as reality was crazy and entertaining enough, no need for a show!
The Flight Attendant (2020)
Great show but her sheer stupidity gets irritating at times.
Like visiting the company of the man she spent the night in Bangkok, saying she'll never drink again after a murder happened & every day after that she drinks, she looses her brother's kids because she cant hold a phone conversation and keep an eye on kids she sees once a year, she opens up a suitcase for which an empty private plane was sent, she goes to the victim's wake, she lies to the police when she sees them the first time, she stole from the victim's residence, she uses her coworkers and friends, drinks & blacks out regularly that people just say it like it's a normal thing. She never thanked her best friend for saving her out of that room with all the shady people at the wake...!! She doesn't give a shit that her best friend could have lost her job! The script is great and I like the show haha it may not seem that way but what i wrote, I do, it's just these very significant life changing mistakes she does all the time that drove me crazy...but drinking as a tween with her alcoholic father and killing a beautiful deer kinda gives us hints as to why she is the way she is.
Luckiest Girl Alive (2022)
Something is just off about this movie, but I don't know what
It's really one of those movies where you're not sure if you preferred to have watched it or not..there were two traumatic stories and I felt that was just way too much, because the beginning started off slow and the rape scenes were quite intense - actually made me sick. The actress who played younger TiffAni (the Ani name was so annoying) she was excellent, but Mila on the other hand didn't make me care at all about her character. I don't know what it was, maybe her stiffness or narration like in SATC show, but somehow she wasn't believable as someone who married old money & had class.. I also didn't understand why she was extremely rude and harsh with her mother - from what we saw, that scene of her dropping her off at the new preppy private school, she was very encouraging, loving and warm..so for her to treat her the way she did at the old money property was just unnecessary. Maybe it's the fact that two hard hitting topics were looked at in the movie, or Mila's unconvincing portrayal of a middle class girl does good after being extremely traumatized as a teen, but something is just off with this movie. Kind of leaves a strange aftertaste too. U can't tell if it pissed u off for wasting ur time on the protagonist's wooden acting, or if u found the 2 heavy topics realistic...
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Script written by teens? Non existent plot, terrible dialogue
What the hell happened here? We really waited more than a decade for a script full of cuz this and cuz that and bro this and bro that? Where's the story? What's the plot? What's the point of the movie? I knew it was gonna be so disappointing after the first 15 minutes - the scenes are cut so bizarrely that some scenes drag on and on, while others feel like ure watching a commercial for 2 drastically different products. There is no soul, u just dont care about any of the characters, u don't care about the animals (why was he so lazy to just copy paste 95% of the wildlife??) The first Avatar was liked by everyone, no matter on what level u were at as a person - the basic u got the marvel of the avatar world, the deeper meaning too was there, so what's here? U couldn't care less about any of the characters, and some scenes are just funny with the hissing like animals, it was just comical. It felt like a 3 hour commercial for kind kind of sea world. The script was terrible and the only time Jake said to his son " i see you" had no weight at all. I went with my dad thinking it was gonna be at least 60% as good as the first one, I left pissed off actually 1.because it was so long 2.at least if u make a 3 hr movie, dont let teens write the script!! Soulless movie. Really disappointed. What was the point exactly of filming underwater and making a huge fuss over it? What was the point of the entire movie actually??
Disenchanted (2022)
Oh no no no. So disappointing!
There is no charm, no fluid in any of the performances, the dialogue makes the hallmark movies masterpieces. Its just quite bad all around and its sad because Enchanted is one of my comfort movies, and I, like most were incredibly excited when we heard part II is coming out. We all thought since they waited so long, it must be pretty great - from the script to the costumes, banter...it all failed. In the first scene Gizelle I think wasnt sure what sarcasm was. It was as if she moved there yesterday and just learned what sarcasm is...she's been in NY for years!! Wooden performances, boring scenes, choreography was incredibly average for a movie. This is just sad.
Wrath of Man (2021)
I find it had to believe Guy directed this. It's bad. Bad.
I dont know where to begin..after about the first ten minutes, I was shocked at how bad the script was. We know Guy's movies to be pretty quick and witty and sharp, but this was just completely different from lets say..RockNRolla or The Gentlemen where the scripts were just perfect. For some reason since the first scene, it felt like a B movie..it just had that feel of a half good written dialogue and half decent script. Unfortunately, I didnt connect with Jason's character, whose movies I love, I didnt feel the connection between him and his son, even though they had very few scenes together. I just didnt connect, it didnt draw me in like all Guy's previous movies. This was a huge disappointment. I found my thoughts drifting after 10 mins, and I only finished it cuz Guy is one of my favorite directors. This was just bad.
The Irishman (2019)
Why the high ratings for this movie? Its baffling.
This felt like when i started watching breaking bad - everyone said it was 10 times better than my favorite Peaky Blinders & had better twists and turns then my second favorite House of Cards, but..Im not sure i even finished the first season. Its just boring! Nothing significant happens (or at least it feels that way, whivh is worse) and u feel u stumbled upon a show that u missed the first 20mins of. Well, this is just like that, except it demands 3 hrs of ur time in 1 sitting. I caught my thoughts wondering about in the first 20mins - I was already bored and as I said, felt I missed the beginning ot the movie. For someone whos top 5 list includes Goodfellas, Wolf of Wall Street... what the hell was this movie?? What was it even about? Why was it 3 hrs long? If felt like one 3 hr extremely boring scene. For me, nothing escalated, no build up of anything, no focus on 1 story... it was just a complete waste of my time. So disappointed!!
War Dogs (2016)
Complete waste of time
For some reason, this 'younger' generation is simply not talented in acting. Some scenes that were suppose to be quite serious turned out to be comical, at least to me. They both looked like a couple of teenagers trying to act tough & pretending to know what they're doing. The acting was terrible! The opposite of convincing. The scenes with Bradley Cooper were hilarious. They weren't suppose to be - he was suppose to be this hard ass criminal, instead the hair, the voice, the glasses all looked ridiculous. Dont know why people said this was a pretty good movie. It was just bleak and it seemed to go on and on and on. The scenes in albania were incredibly depressing.
Morbius (2022)
Just Awful
What is happening to the movie industry? Arent we all sick of plots like this? There are other categories to explore than superhero and CGI crap.
This was just laughable. Sorry. Who thought casting jared leto in something like this would make any sense??
Dont waste ur time..
Breaking Bad (2008)
Finally watched this. Why the 9.5 though?
Ive been hearing about this show for years, and finally started watching it. The word masterpiece was thrown around a lot when people were telling me about it. As someone who loves great plots, Im quite disappointed. None of the characters are likable, NONE, apart from Walt Junior. They really overdid it though with the two bald mexican guys in the same silver suits for days on end - never said a word and acted like Arnold in The Terminator. Hilarious. Im on season 3 now, I dont know how long Ill watch this, cuz as I said, and especially the protagonists arent likable. No qualities at all. Tommy from Peaky Blinders was a violent ruthless murderer, but at least the viewers liked him. Why did people like these two I have yet to find out...
The Wire (2002)
I really wanted to like this, but..
Im on episode 3 and i havent connected with any character - none of them are believable. Its as if they read the script, didnt care to understand the material and are just spewing the lines. Im shocked because the guy from The Affair is here, and there he was phenomenal, Idris Elba is here too, he's a great actor too. Its a shame. Ill give it till episode 5, but i doubt it'll get better.
You (2018)
Please for Season 4 fix the hair on penn badgley's neck & head!!
Season 1, the story was great, seasons 2 was good while with season 3, I found myself zoning out a few times. Some scenes were comical when they weren't suppose to - like the scene where the men howl and let out these weird loud noises like animals (on their guy's trip). It was hilarious. I really don't know what I was expecting for Season 3....but this wasn't it.. and once again, please shave Penn's neck- the hair coming out of his t-shirts is just awful & his hairstyle is just...i don't know, what guy has this kinda hairstyle? Ive never seen it! It's so thick and bushy, he looks ridiculous.
The Serpent (2021)
"Cloggy"? Really now?
This was such a disappointment - could have been sooo much better. The only thing that was great was the costume designer and the sets - the rest...the emotionless acting by the protagonist, the constant time jumping literaly from scene to scene was ridiculous. The racist nickname didnt help either. "Cloggy" cuz the man was Dutch. Really?
Pursuit (2022)
Did someone lose a bet & had to make this crappy movie?
I mean, seriously, is this a joke?? Looks like a C rated movie from the early 90's. Whats up with the tribal forehead tattoo & a tiny scorpion on his cheek? Cusack's hair is pitch black - its as if he's trying to pull of a Nic Cage. This movie is just awful.
Marry Me (2022)
Are we suppose to take this seriously?
Who agreed to finance this?? She's done 1 or 2 good movies..she;s not an actress, not even a singer, Ashanti was doing most of the singing in her career, she's a back up dancer who's now doing a movie about a superstar as narcissistic as she is falls for a regular guy? And not just any regular guy, but quirky looking & quirky personality guy? Yea. Ok...Hollywood has money to throw away it seems...
Mayor of Kingstown (2021)
Hmm.
Feels like it tries way too hard to be gritty. Im disappointed to be honest & surprised Renner is in this. If u're gonna do a show which has SWAT team people in it, at least have an interest of making it look believable.
