Killers of the Flower Moon (2023)
is it a documentary?
This movie did not feel like a movie at all. It felt more like a documentary. The only good thing about this movie is that it depicts and gives light to a sad part of American society and shows how many people's lives are ruined for some people to profit. It shows how ugly politicians are and how small are normal random people compared to the leading industries and how little their lives matter. I liked the clothing and the cars and how the movie takes us back to the years but it was boring and repetitive. We saw all the killings, one by one and nothing stood out. A whole family tree getting wiped and it was all about money. True life, but there was no need of 4 hours for this.
The Father (2020)
almost believe Anthony might actually have dementia
Anthony is a top actor and this is a very very good movie. I had to rewind back about 20-30minutes because i could not believe my eyes and i thought i missed something. I loved Anthony's reacting to the whole situation. He almost makes me think he suffers from dementia based on how good he plays the role. It makes a very good impression of how suffering with dementia actually goes on and how you can't even trust your brain. I also like the scenes showcasing the small house but my favorite part was the scene happening twice, it came seemingly and it was a very strong scene showcasing dementia..
Dune: Part Two (2024)
amazing graphics and special effects but movie is extremely predictable
The special effects are beyond amazing, the lighting, the views, the sand, the sun rays and everything related to the photographic looks of it are what carries this movie. I strongly believe that the top actor picks (timonthee? And zendaya?) are there only because of their momental fame and all their controversies that surround their name rather than the rule suiting them. Timonthee really doesn't fill Paul's trousers in this role. Neither physically, nor psychologically. I would not have taken him seriously at all if I was one of the fighters there. He cannot obtain the "looks of a leader" neither the tone of the voice for such an important figure in the movie. Zendaya is honestly less worse but still, other figures could have done way better for this role. Also the plot is 95% predictable up untile the late movie. The script is what would come up in a chatgpt question: the savior, coming out of a honorable family that got slaughtered, hated by most, loved by the main female protagonist, suddenly he learns their language, tries to look like a rebel, a quick learner, starts to be loved by the community and suddenly rides the "biggest worm ever" (this part of the movie was soooo predictable and cringe). I don't like that the movie tries to make something new out of everything (those "dancing" walking moves in the sand) didn't look good. By the end of the movie things got a little better because I was not expecting that, but at the end again, the same plot. His clan was executed because his fathed believed "in the power of love/heart"? "he was a weak man" what in the Naruto world of Anime is this? Also the movie just left some for another movie at the end. If this was not the DUNE movie and if there wasn't the graphics team backing this up, this movie would have been a huge mistake and loss of money.
Anatema (2006)
low budget film but represents the war very truthfully
This movie and other Albanian movies seem to be down voted very badly due to being Albanian or pro Albanian movies. It is low budget and it lacks the top actors but it actually depicts the horrible sufferings of Albanian people. The first part shows very well the face of the serbian army and their horrible genocide. It is easily fact checked by just a simple internet search and you can basically see the true pictures this movie is based on. There have been mass killing, war crimes, rapping, genocide, forcefully evictions, house destroying and everything else that is shown has truth in it. I feel bad that people had to suffer through it and how there's still missing people from the war until nowdays. Also shows how much raped women suffered and were mistreated by friends, family or other Albanians for their misfortune. It also gives hope and shows how hopefull Albanians were for a better life. It is a horrible story. This story maybe needs better representation but this movie is a good start for foreigners and even interested Albanians to watch.
I Love Tropoja (2020)
Exaggerating
Low quality of cast. Nothing to do with real Albanian people. The only looking like actor would be the girl's dad and the girl itself. The girl's mother is the worst cast member, including other "Tropojans".
