The Suicide Squad (2021)
Emetaphobia warning
Tons of gore which is fine, but less than 30 minutes in polkadot man throws up. I didn't get to finish the movie after that. Emetaphobia is not a fear so much as a severe reaction to vomit and can cause violent reactions if severe enough. I've thrown up myself due to it and even physically fainted narrowly missing hitting my head. I wish movies had warnings similar to the violence, language etc. Just add the word vomit. Is that really too much to ask?
Jungle Cruise (2021)
Vomit is NOT comic relief
Emetaphobia exists and despite its name, it is not so much a fear as it is a severe reaction to the sight, sound, smell or even so much as the word or discussion of the topic. Either by becoming sick myself or more extreme reactions to the point of passing out. To save others time; the scene IMMEDIATELY after they survive missing the waterfall, everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE, proceeds to get sick. Unfortunately for me, I was not prepared for such a scene in a kids movie, and passed out on my face, narrowly missing my coffee table (thank God), but still bruising my nose as I landed face down. My 9 year old had to wake me as I'm a single mom and we have no one close to help. I am usually very cautious before watching movies for this exact reason but I did not find any evidence anything would be wrong. While it may not bother most, emetaphobia is a very real condition that effects quite a lot of people. And given that 90% of movie now contain some form of grotesque motions, I feel a warning on movies would be vital, similar to having a flashing colors/lights warning for those with epilepsy.
Overall, I would rate it higher had I been able to actually watch much of it. From what I gathered it is literally just The Mummy (Brendan Frasier version) mixed with the curse from Pirates of the caribbean, thrown into the jungle.
Soulmates (2020)
2009 "TIMER" did it better...and it wasn't great
For real? I enjoy the concept but directors are just ripping off other already made content all over the place. Also the camera motions were mildly annoying.
Pocoyo (2005)
Pocoyo for the win!
As a parent of a severely developmentally delayed autistic child, I am ecstatic for this show. My son was never interested in anything in general, toys, tv, music, nothing. One day I stumbled across pocoyo on Netflix and he actually watched! I noticed all other shows were overstimulating for all the excessive colors and background 'noise'. But after watching pocoyo I went on to discover more simplisticly colored shows similar in style, held his attention! Since then he reacts more and actively tries to play with me and his older brother. Thank you to whomever created this show and others like it. Now we have pocoyo books and other toys and we are actually able to connect with him.
