All the Old Knives (2022)
Good Film
Slowly, Slowly, lovingly, painfully, heartbreakingly drags you through a facad that has nothing to do with underlying motives. It's a simple story of love....and love doesn't end happy.... watch it, only if you are not just looking for entertainment. Watchbit if you want a little bit more, a little bit deeper, a little bit love....
Manchester by the Sea (2016)
Bored to death
Got really bored. Which rarely happens. I kept watching to finally see something. It's painful, unhappy, sad and slow...not a perfect formula for entertainment. That's just me.
Star Trek: Picard: Mercy (2022)
Waste of my time
It's going nowhere. Super slow, scattered and unnecessarily complex. Dragging something meaningless. Boring and low level. The who episode could be done in 5min. You don't have a story to tell, then why are you even making this? Shame. This is going nowhere.
Dune (2021)
A photographer's perspective, feast for your eyes.
I consider myself a visual storyteller and this is a very visually pleasing story. The story itself is Game of Thrones all over again however, the visuals are better. Don't get me wrong, I savored every scene of GOT, but this blew me away.
It's worth watching, more than twice which in itself is a great complement to what they have done.
If you're like me and visuals area big part of the pleasure for you, go slowly, scene by scene and enjoy. Find out how many angles and they chose to have for every single scene. Well done team Dune, beautiful work.
Thunder Force (2021)
You can enjoy more by looking at the wall.
I wonder who felt pity and gave this more than one?
Altered Carbon (2018)
Better get a good whiskey ready!
It's not a show to talk about and analyse to death, it's an experience to have. You need to see the first season if you haven't yet. If you had already, then you need a refresher.
Then sit down, have a good whiskey ready and let the story, acting, special effects and little bit of childlike imagination take you on a journey.
There is no show you can call perfect and this one is not an exception but you will definitely find lots of nuggets of surprise, joyful moments and some tearful moments awaiting for you.
The Flash: Marathon (2020)
Mediocre 😔
Boring, basic, bad!
One of those episodes that you wish you would have never wasted your time on it.
Ad Astra (2019)
Beautiful message wraped in an intense story presented with stunning cinematography! What more could you ask for?
Yes some like it some don't. Some do understand it and some struggle. It's the nature of the life. I'm a professional photographer and visual story teller and I tell you I have never seen such a long and seemingly slow story can makes me so intense.
Acting was also very very good. Mr. Pitt delivers his signature performance. Reminded me of his performance in Seven but it's more mature.
It's also a feast for your eyes. Every frame is a shot of beauty. I wish we had more movies like this.
If you didn't like any of above, then at least let the message moves you. Which is by itself worth the whole time you spend on this.
Mr. Robot: 407 Proxy Authentication Required (2019)
Sam is GENIUS!!!
I can't do this anymore. I can't hold back any longer.
I'm.not in to writing reviews however he made me to finally say it. Sam you are the MAN.
At the beginning it was incredible cinematography and then the story telling then it was multifaceted narratives and then crazy monologues and then and then....
Man you made something that no one has ever made before. What you created is simply MORE.
RED (2010)
RED stands for: Really Entertaining, Dude!
Short n' Sweet: Awesome. I just came back from watching it. Exactly as I was expecting, FUNNY, ACTION, ENTERTAINING. What else you really expect? Honestly, why the hell do we go to movies? Despite our tastes, we expect value for the time and money. Well good news, this one has both. I really laughed for the first time after "Burn after reading". Good (but a bit predictable) plot, bunch of shiny stars with good chemistry and finally if I want to summarized into one word I would say: John Malkovich! He is the ACE in this title. Seeing lady Mirren so comfy behind that gigantic machine gun, was A blast. Highly recommended.
