The Paper Chase: Not Prince Hamlet (1984)
Strongest episode of series
I remember this episode all like it aired only yesterday. Watched it for the third time yesterday. Acting was superb and story extremely sad. Enjoyed music of main character. Only wish he had been in a few episodes before this to give us a sense of his personality. Unfortunately the actor appears to have left profession after this role. Too bad since there was online praise for his role in The Wanderers. You can't be human if the dads performance talking to Hart doesn't get to you.
Columbo: Columbo Likes the Nightlife (2003)
Columbo's excellent finale but sad that there won't be another one
This episode was better then most from the last few seasons referred to in the DVD set. Even though he was older, he actually sounded clearer and looked better them some of the previous season 11 and 12 episodes. The script was well written with the usual antics and the addition of the character who played Bobby on the Sopranos was a pleasant surprise. Any review that said some of the supporting acting was poor I would disagree with. It's sad that the episode was good and left you wanting more. Too many years were spent without a Columbo episode and if they made 80 and a finale that might have satisfied fans more. He should have at least gotten his finale. Why did it take 4 year to approve Columbo's Last Case only to be turned down by the networks Columbo called home? Their will never be another Columbo at least not with Mr. Falk unless it's CGI or adding creative special effects, but it still wouldn't be the same. So go enjoy the finale and after the memories of the conclusions of old episodes have faded, you can watch them again from the 1970's on Netflix or for the first time if you haven't already seen them. "Rest in Peace Mr. Columbo"
