Invasion: Hope (2021)
The most accurate review about this show
So here is a review about this episode of Invasion, a sci-fi series now stremming on the stremming service from Apple called Apple TV+.
This review is a result of my personal impressions watching this episode of invasion, all put into worlds written on an online website where you are probably reading it.
The show is about aliens and there was some episodes before this one and more will come after in this season. The Capital of Nigeria is not Lagos.
The Morning Show: Confirmations (2021)
Everything turns grey
This episode is the culmination of a contantly growing blur in the spearation of "the baddies" and "the goodies" that was happening from some episodes ago. This episode feels like real life. Everything is complex, every one of the four main storylines here are about a different set of problems and almost every time these storylines interchange, we see explosion.
About the acting, this is probably the best cast in a current running TV series.
This episode is long, but not boring. Fast but not rushed. Complex but not difficult.
Invasion (2021)
A waste
Waste of a great cast. Waste of such amazing photography. And most importantly, wast of my time. All wasted on lazy writing. The "skip 15 seconds" was never so useful. Every Elise feel like it worths 20 mins of story and the rest is either transition between scenes or completely useless dialogs.
Ted Lasso: Midnight Train to Royston (2021)
Cliffhangers cliffhangers and more cliffhangers
A nice preparation for the end of the season and new scenarios for the third. After a quite peaceful season where most conflicts from season one where settled, we now face new ones. More complex with no obvious outcomes. Everything that may come next episode and season, will be a surprise.
Ted Lasso: No Weddings and a Funeral (2021)
I just got rickrolled by a TV series.
Great writing. Probably the best screenplay in the series and one of the best I saw on TV. Jokes were weirdly funny, I lauged on very unexpected times.
This is absolute new to television: A humor that doesn't respect timing and breaks expectation: You think this scene will be pure feels? Think again, here is a joke!
It is good to see someone inovating, not like some series about a precinct or a super store that just rips off The Office.
The acting is awesome, good luck to whoever will be against Sudeikis, Hannah and Juno next emmys.
Ted Lasso: Beard After Hours (2021)
There are better episodes, but this one is my favourite.
Awesome writing, great execution, but there is a feeling of a missing piece. It is great, but compared to other episodes (specially in season 2), it dwarfs in quality. Maybe the absence of pther great characters besides the best (beard)?
Mr. Corman (2021)
Nothin more than an "atempt"
"If you think it's boring you don't get it "
If the point is so apparently hidden, there is the possibility that there is none.
This series has no point. Feels dull, uneciting and somewhat steretypical. This is a failed attempt to be what the "Boyhood" ahieved to be when it is about pure and honest life experience. Characters are too simple and far from real.
Never Have I Ever (2020)
Steretypical, boring and unlikeable.
Another american highschool that feels like a woke american pie.
Mr. Corman: Mr. Morales (2021)
Oh no, the "mean teenager" stereotype didn't die yet.
Even if this show had an actual point, even if it wasn't a lost narrative without a clear arc, the reliance of an entire episode on an old and possible one of the most toxic US cinema stereotypes would be enough to make it boring. Now with all that combined? It was possible the worst experience I had when watching something on apple+, so far.
Maybe the writers objective was to portrait morales life as miserable, but by trying so explicitly in a lazy way made my afternoon miserable instead.
