Seungriho (2021)
Other industries can also make space sci fi
This distopia - messia - bad guy is a 3 parts story we all have seen in many movies. Still, IT's healthy and funny in the face of actors whose names I don't know, speaking a language that forces me to read subs.
The plot doesn't need a 10 minutes explanatory introduction. Characters are believable and very well performed.
Multi-language dialogues make a likely cosmopolitan scenario.
Very entertaining.
May be the music is a little childish.
I'll look for more Korean contents in Netflix.
Uprising (2001)
Not realistic enough. Politically biased.
Good news first. Interesting scenes of ghetto buildings and their undergrounds and hidding places. Very good performances by most of the cast. Headlines with names and dates, make it easier to understand.
Bad news now. Heavy spoilers.
In the real ghetto, one of those flags in the roof of the building was not what the movie shows (it was the flag of one of the parties, not that of Israel).
The movie completelly forgets the ZZW contribution to the resistance in the uprising and unfairly depicts only ZOB actions.
None of the actors took a week to loose some weigh to play these demanding roles. Leelee Sobiesky looks incredibly good (as always) even in her brest implants and Hank Azaria kept his weigh lifting sessions during the filming. In the movie, it looks very unrealistic. None of the characters looks like a starving person.
How can the wooden bridge of Chlodna street not appear once in the movie? Plus, you can't make a Warszawa ghetto movie of you don't take seriously the famine that went one there.
The movie is entertaining and useful to bring atention to some historial facts for those who know nothing about WWII.
Run All Night (2015)
Enterteined, almost realistc characters
Although L Neeson is put to play almost the same rol as he does in some other movies we all saw, this time "geriatric action hero" doesn't have dozens of superspecial skill (almost like superpowers). All other characters also don't look coming from Krypton, which is positive, even for an action movie.
I just didn't understand why he immediately starts to mention the "night" when there is no reason to think in advance that the whole drama must have an outcome in just some hours.
S'parta (2018)
Very catchy, not a master piece
All 8 episodes are a long movie, which you can easylly watch in one session. Very catchy. The plot doesn't show those unexplained twists usually present in US series. There are a couple of villians, but they look credible.
But the story line follows 12 or 15 people finding/meeting each other everywhere they go, which seems odd in a city of millions of people.
Totally recomend to watch it.
