The ugliest movie i've ever seen

The ugliest movie i've ever seen. All the more ugly as it starts from "high" intentions. The director would like to make an anti-racist speech, instead he ends up doing pure racism. the Venetians are presented as thieves, swindlers, racists, drunkards and whoever has more. Abatantuono at its worst, try throughout the film to speak Venetian without succeeding. Lodovini only knows how to show off her smile. Mastandrea is embarrassing in the role of a Roman commissioner, salvific among the bad Venetians. There is also room for a colored prostitute who, obviously in perfect Italian, gives everyone valuable life advice. From a technical point of view the direction is non-existant. Tragicomic. Fortunately very few have seen it.

Uncomplete but interesting danish movie of 1916. The cut isn't "modern" yet: the scenes are long and the rhythm slow to the contemporary eyes.

Battle Royale (2000)

Very programmatic film, of violence built on the table. No one character is credible, Kitano at his worst simply repeat his old prototype. Sometimes it manages to be disturbing. Unuseless scandal.

Five different stories set in dark ages, in the year 926 in the area near Bologna, the town of the director. Very interesting all the customs shown, that derive directly from previous pagan uses. The absolutely power of the religion and the church. The daily attempt to find something but misery of the life in God. Very expressive movie, one of the best ones by Pupi Avati.
