Brendan Schaub: You'd Be Surprised (2019)
Huge fan of the podcast, what happened B?
Might've been the worst stand up special I've seen. I believe he can become a good standup but he needs a few more years of seasoning. Whoever convinced him to do this was just using him. He wasn't ready, much like cm punk, he should've stayed with smaller venues fixing up his act
Man of Steel (2013)
Man Of Steel once again proves that DC is a one man band
The film feels like a lot of it got cut out and the film was edited together with music and ended up feeling like a never ending trailer.
The first time I can cite pacing issues and actually mean it. The film is stunning to look at it, but the film doesn't really have a conversation until the last act, it's insane. The film also does a crazy amount of expositions because it wants to be an origin story, but doesn't have the balls to be a character piece.
The film has these great action set pieces, but when you see other people are in danger around Superman, you care very little, because the film spent no time developing any of the side characters. The film is cliché, generic, formulaic, and just isn't a lot of fun. I wouldn't have mind a character piece, but the film instead tries to be just another action film, but without the boisterous pleasure of something like The Avengers or Spiderman 2.
Saved by the Savior (2011)
I wish I had been saved by the savior before watching...
Saved by the savior. I wish I had never seen it. It left me indignant and exasperated. I wish I would have been given cancer by Jesus himself, or shot in the head by Judas. It doesn't get much worse than this. The character development was poor, the story lacked substance and originality, the acting was beyond terrible. The visual and audio seemed like they were captured by a tween who has received his first camera for Christmas and is screwing around with his friends. It isn't even really a show either, it's only around ten minutes long. The whole thing is very tired and trite and I hope for everyone involved's sake they don't waste their time doing a 2nd episode.
Also the guy looks nothing like Jesus...Well, maybe if Jesus decided to get fat and shave his beard into a douchey goatee. But I could get over him not looking like Jesus. Then there's the gay Judas character they added. I had no idea Judas was a homosexual, but apparently in this universe, he is. ALSO, I thought a party thrown by Jesus might have people actually show up. Some chicks at least. But it appears all the 'film' makers could get was a couple of guys they found on the street. The thing that bothers me most is that they think they can parody a bad show just by making a bad show and putting Jesus into it. Like that is the most hilarious thing you can do. Retell a played out and shitty joke or scenario and add Jesus, and abra kadabra, hilarity. It doesn't work that way. There are a few punch-lines that are delivered in part because the show is about Jesus that you sigh and groan upon hearing them wishing they had not even tried. It is obvious the writers couldn't write a decent joke (or plot) to save their life.
If Jesus was real he would have prevented this show from ever being created. I have lost my faith because of this god forsaken show. And if a man named Jesus ever did exist, he is probably rolling over in his grave somewhere wishing he had never come down to Earth. Or maybe he wishes he could become a zombie again and just tell the creators of this show to stop. Just please stop.
Please don't waste your time on this show, viewer. If you do go in, now expecting it to be so terrible it's funny, like The Room, don't even think about it. It will get you depressed and sad more than anything knowing that these people actually took the time to create this and were actually proud of it. It's a bummer. You won't laugh at how terrible it is nor will you laugh at the abhorrent 'jokes'. I guess you can admire that they tried though. I guess.
