The Hound of the Baskervilles (1978)
Time & what is avaliable to watch now upped the value
Stand fare english comedy.
Kenneth Williams is right on the way as his Moore. A Sherlock Holmes spoof about a family that has been haunted for years by the curse of a horrible hound has been around for ever and this one is pretty good. Its funny and has some situations only a english crowd would understand. Of course you can see and feel some "Carry On" moves but its difficult to find a comedy.made in England in the 70's that was not drifting over into the "Carry On" lane somewhere. Considering.what you get now from the movies this movie is rated GOOD.
Fatman (2020)
Pretty good movie
I usually will not like a movie film made after 1960 but this was a surprise, not a rehash of a tired situation that most new movies suffer from .. It entertains.
Woman Wanted (1999)
Everyone sees something different
I liked the movie until the woman turned as evil as the son, that kind bond killing between father and son is irreversible. It also tries to "make it ok" when in real life such a reconciliation between could never happen not to mention causing a child to be raised that way without knowing if he had a father or grandfather or which is which.
The Color of Fire (2015)
A man 15 years old in a situation of survival
I forgive him? maybe there is nothing to forgive. War is ruthless, all the rules go out the window until its over. Also people shouldn't say America has had concentration camps because that IS NOT true. They were internment camps where everyone was well taken care of. To compare them with death camps is total nonsense.
This is a reflection of his life and the older you are the more you would empathize with his plight. The film will really be understood better if you have read Mein Kampf and other books about the war. There were millions of Germans who had absolutely nothing to do with the war or the Nazi government. Yet they were victims of their own government but at the same time completely helpless to intervene. It is well that he got to tell his story. And I hope it helps somebody some where sometime. I wont forget it.
