RadhaKrishn (2018)
So many things wrong with this.
Please don't insult the epics disguised in aesthetic VFX. With false storyline and unnecessarily stretched scenes for the sake of TRPs, the show ruins the essence of the great epics.
The makers had an opportunity to use the visual effects in order to make an authentic version, but the TRPs win over originality these days. It's high time for the television audience to choose what they watch. Characters taken from the Hindu scriptures and a storyline developed as per the maker's convinience in order to put the audience under the shadow? It's not acceptable on so many grounds.
Lord Krishna spent his life with all sorts of people, and taught people how to deal with so many problems in life. He taught the way of living and became an inspiration for all.
Including the life events of such a great character is a challenging job, but adding unnecessary drama and fake storylines isn't cool.
I am amazed at how the audience love the misinterpreted versions. These versions are a threat to originality and the values. Please stop such shows and do something that'll bring an impact in the society. Make a show that is authentic, where people don't dress up weirdly, where a character doesn't have the need to talk in a slow motion only to show that he's an antagonist of the story. That would be great.
This show doesn't make any sense with it's made up storylines.
Mahabharat (2013)
Dissapointing version!!!
How can people tolerate this over dramatic version where people can't talk in a normal speed? What is the need for Duryodhan and Shakuni to talk in slow motion and act like they're psychotic? Can they not converse in a normal way?
Moreover, there's no character development. No character is completely right or completely wrong in the epic Mahabharata.
But here, I didn't find different shades of the characters being justified.
Also, what's with the extra fashionable tilaks? If I am not wrong, people used to put on tilaks dedicated to the main deity they worshipped. Designs of bow and arrow on their forehead? Like seriously? They were Kshyatrias, and if I am not wrong, they used to worship Narayan as their main deity.
Also, playing 'Gandivdhaari Arjuna' in the background when Arjun hadn't received the Gandiv bow yet doesn't make it cool. Arjun had recieved the bow only when Khandavprathsa was getting transformed into Indraprastha.
Watch it if you're fascinated only by the VFX.
If you're looking for something that justifies the epic Mahabharata, it's essence and it's characters, watch the version by BR Chopra. That version, with 'Main Samay hoon'(the narration by time), Mahendra Kapoor's soulful voice and such lively acting remains the best version till date. The writing of that version by Dr. Rahi Masoom Raza and Pandit Narendra Sharma is magical. The weight those dialouges carried and the hardwork from each and every member cannot be compared to the new shows, that focus on TRPs rather than the content and quality. Also, the casting of the older version was on point. The performances of Nitish Bharadwaj as Lord Krishna, Mukesh Khanna as Bhishma Pitamaha cannot be matched by any other actors. Other characters too were justified by respective actors.
To those saying that this new version is liked by the new generation, let me tell you, it isn't! I'm from the new generation and I wonder how people are watching this version.
I didn't enjoy watching the over dramatic scenes that were stretched for TRPs.
I don't recommend this version at all. If you're looking for a proper show that's based on the epic Mahabharata, watch the version of 1988.
