Blackpink: Light Up the Sky (2020)
Interesting to watch. A good watch for those who don't understand Kpop or are just getting into it!!
I'm not a BlackPink fan but I enjoyed this documentary. If you don't know about the Kpop industry or you are just starting to get into Kpop then you should definitely watch this. It's very informative with what you have to do to get into the Kpop industry and how hard it is on Kpop idols, the Kpop industry is very different and isn't anything like what you have to do to become a singer in the west. Each Kpop company is different too so it's interesting to see what YG is like. Since I'm not a fan I actually surprisingly liked seeing the journey the girls went though from being kids to debuting!!
Good starter if you are only just becoming interested in Kpop since BlackPink are such a popular group, have very different and interesting music and can also speak multiple languages, they are a very watchable group.
For any BlackPink fans obviously you're gonna wanna watch this documentary!!
Netflix definitely need more Kpop releases!!! Enjoyed this documentary, it's very well made. I do wish they could have put more performances in though but at the same time it's not a concert movie (Netflix get on with releasing Kpop concert DVD's please!!!!) :)
Busanhaeng 2: Bando (2020)
Don't watch expecting it to be as good as the first one!!!!!
Train to Busan is a incredible film, because it was so good when people heard there was going to be a second film people had their expectations way too high which is why so many people are disappointed in the reviews. The first and second film are two completely different films you shouldn't really compare the two because that's when you become disappointed with the second film. One it's own this film is entertaining however I thought it was a bit silly during some parts mostly because of how much CGI they used, it eventually just becomes unreal and very much like a video game. Don't get me wrong it looks great the technology they used makes it look sort of life like but there was just something that didn't sit right with me while watching. It's probably because of the amount of jumping and speeding the cars did yet the CGI cars are completely fine without a single dent.... it all just became really unrealistic especially when the CGI zombies and city came in. It's not exactly a strong film on its own and obviously compared to its first film (which you shouldn't really compare but still)... Train to Busan is much better overall.
A reason out of many of why I gave this film 4 stars is because near the end it also becomes really dramatic and kind of painful to watch. You sit there thinking why couldn't she have done that 5 minutes ago instead of sitting there? Also wouldn't you be dead by now? Lots of slow motion dramatic scenes near the end too which made things really cheesy for me.
It's a entertaining film on its own if you watch it without expecting anything as good as Train to Busan, but there are many let down parts for me that could have been way better :(
Kol (2020)
Entertaining film!! Keep's you watching!!! Only problem is the two alternate endings they've put in ><
Great film!! If you understand film's where time crosses over (basically time travel film's) then you will understand and enjoy this film. Ignore the people that say it makes no sense because it does!! It comes quite fast pace in the last half only because so much is happening but if you keep up with everything it's very entertaining, definitely keeps you watching. I hoped this film would be good because some Netflix films can be really cheesy and bad but this is one of the good ones. The trailer doesn't tell you much apart from the main point of the phone I guess, so I didn't know what to expect with this film which is why I enjoyed is so much. The most important thing with film's like this one is that you should watch it without any expectations, you'll enjoy it more if you don't know what's exactly coming. I love twists and I didn't see anything coming with this film so I definitely enjoyed it. Very clever storyline and concept. The effect's used at some points are very extra but make the film more fantasy like. This film definitely made me think things through over and over. Good acting too, Jeon Jong-seo is a brilliant actress!!!
The only thing I will say is that they could have kept to one ending. You think it's ended but after some credits it's actually not. It's like they had two endings and didn't know which one to choose so they put both in which I think is what's confusing people. The ending they put in during the credits doesn't exactly fit in the storyline but if you just ignore the alternate ending they've put in for some reason the film makes sense.
Would definitely watch again!! Very good film :)
