Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
10 good minutes
Thor: Love and Thunder. All the scenes with Christian Bale were good to great. Well acted and consistent. Everything else was just bad writing and direction. I am not certain why the MCU keeps trying to be a comedy instead of being about super heros I feel bad for the actors that were required to play along with the script. Chris Hemsworth was still able to bring the original Thor out a few times, but for the most part had to stay in his new "comedic" character. Other reviewers ahve likened it to an SNL skit and I agree. They had some funny moments that were pulled far beyond the moment and they just kept on going until it was painful to watch.
The last 10-15 minutes of the movie were worthwihile but it was tough to get to that point.
Paragon: The Shadow Wars (2020)
Missing: Writing, Acting, Story Development
Seems like a good plot, but the horrible writing and poor delivery of those lines makes this difficult to watch. Other than Danny Trejo I think the producers/directors just asked their freinds to be in the movie and those with nothing better to do joined in.
I am guessing they paid for their early high reviews. This will be a 5 rating within a month.
Borealis (2013)
Decent movie that never ends?
Overall, entertaining. Not Academy award caliber, but good actors just same. My only real problem with the film is that it just ends. Just as the movie is winding up, it ends. The protagonist (Vic) seems that he is about to do something about all the bad in town (don't want to spoil too much) and then the movie ends. Poof, credits role. What?
If this was a pilot (as some of the other reviewers have stated), they should have said so somewhere. This is not a special forces kind of movie, it is more of the not-so-nice-guy turns into the protector of the town kind of movie.
Comically, the pictures on the movie cover are apparently scenes from some other movie, nothing shown actually happens in the movie. I am really confused why they show a post-apocalyptic "metropolis" when this is set in the wastes of Canada.
