Late Night Lockup: You're Being Recorded (2023)
Not all Cops are Bad!
A perfect example as to what's wrong with the world today. From a well respected CEO behaving like a spoilt brat to a parent who's brainwashed by his son and believes everything he says.
This shows us the close encounters that police deal with on a daily basis. And is the perfect reason why cops should be thanked and respected for what they experience out there in the real world. So many drunk encounters that the law needs to be changed to put more responsibility on those serving the alcohol to these drunks.
Watch and shake your head at the madness that is our world. Makes me want to hibernate!
Still a Mystery: She Gave No Warning (2020)
Story Telling is not their Forte
This is an example of extremely poor journalism and reporting. There's gaps in the story and it seems like they're hiding details from their viewers. There's nothing wrong with that but don't treat your audience like they're idiots. As a viewer, the expectation would be, "We're unable to share the details as this is an active investigation.", etc. But instead the story leaves the viewer with many more questions than answers and frustrations. Some of the basic questions that weren't discussed or answered are:
- was the body fluid found in the back of the car tested against the missing mum's DNA?
- were there any similarities with the other murders in this tiny town?
- what happened the homicide investigation on the missing mum's father?
- and the most important question of all, why haven't the family raised funds to hire a private investigator particularly as it's clear that the detectives are incapable of investigating.
In addition, the fact that the producers have chosen to cover 2 stories in each episode is another poor example of this show. Either cover story properly or just don't bother.
The Perfect Murder: Defenseless (2018)
Damaging Media Leak. NOT
After watching this, I could not help but wonder how many more crimes could be solved by media leaks. And how detectives hold onto details that potentially could solve hundreds of unsolved crimes. Maybe leaking details to the media is the best way to go but that's just my opinion.
Not sure why this was classified as a perfect murder particularly as the murder weapon was found. They failed to go into details as whether the gun was registered or not and why detectives couldn't connect it to the murderer. Or maybe it had the potential be a perfect murder because the detective work was so lacking. Embarrassingly the prosecutor even admits that they weren't happy about the media link but in reality, they wouldn't have had a case without it.
I would have scored this episode a little higher if it wasn't for the terrible script writing and the classic 'A Perfect Murder' line, uttered by so many detectives on this show, "And here's what I think happened!!".
Worth watching as the puzzle pieces fall into place.
Teen Mom: Ask the Moms (2017)
What were they thinking?
Obviously the producers put no thought into this episode what so ever. The most meaningless questions were chosen and it was a complete time waster. Playing games? Are you for real??
If I were the producer, I won't not have let the show go to air without Farrah being present to have the real questions answered, particularly about her relationships with her parents, boyfriends and even daughter.
Here's my question: Farrah, you asked Sophia for her feedback and then shot her down when you didn't like the innocent child's observation and opinions of you. Do you have any idea what this does to a child and the truth it speaks about your behaviour and personality??
Get your act together producers and start producing viewer worthy episodes.
Scorned: Love Kills: Caskets and Strippers (2014)
From trailer to funeral home
It's hard to believe that anyone would have the audacity to do what Mark did. No respect for the dead or at the very least, his wife. But obviously his brain is between his legs.
This is a perfect example of how people's don't appreciate what they have. The saddest part of all is that he could be out of jail as early as this year.
Deadly Devotion: Pledge Your Life (2015)
Be prepared for goose bumps
Finally an episode of Deadly Devotion that kept me watching and guessing till the end because I honestly thought that someone from the sorority had tampered with their car because they threatened to report their actions. It's sad to believe that this sort of behaviour still happens in our society today.
The makers of the series did fail to provide updates and whether justice was served or not. I've seen other shows where they add a blurb to the end of the episode providing users with progress of court outcomes, etc. The makers also failed to mention what happened to the corrupt cop, probably because she got off Scot-free but this should also have been mentioned. Having protectors of society believing that the pledge process is a normal way to behave and even going to lengths where they tamper with evidence is frightening to see.
This is something that needs to be seen by any parent who is soon to send their child to university.
A very sad but eye opening episode.
Assal Eswed (2010)
Some great scenes but you just need to look closely!
A true depiction of how Egyptians with dual citizenship's are treated and taken advantage of. This movie really captures the before and after of when they assume Masry (Ahmed Helmy) is Egyptian compared to when they realise that he's an American. Each citizenship has it's advantages and disadvantages.
An awesome soundtrack, with just the right songs used in just the perfect scenes.
In the scene where Masry is being abused by police, a perfectly placed prop of a hanging wall picture of former president Mobarek is a reminder of how the country's lack of rights needs some desperate attention. Keeping in mind that this movie was filmed before the 25th January revolution.
A movie with lots of laughs, showing that Egyptians are getting better and better at comedy. Quite enjoyable and must watch!
