Terror in the Woods: Hellhound (2017)
Ughhh..... No thanks.
Ok, first I can't believe I am taking the time to review a tv show about the paranormal in the the first place but their lack of willingness to even research the dates OR their outright desire to knowingly mistate the truth about the stated historical events is needs addressed.
First, she DOES NOT tour a hospital, she tours an abandoned 'prison' in Ohio. This is important for several reasons.
The show tells the story of 'Amy' from who tours an abandoned and 'haunted' prison just outside of Columbus, OH. As she continues her story she describes how she tours (on May 23rd of 2016) said Ohio prison where their was a large fire, "THE LARGEST PRISON FIRE IN HISTORY". " A FIRE THAT KILLED OVER 300 PEOPLE".
Ok sportsfans here is the problem. The fire she is describing happened at the old Ohio State Penetentiary in downtown Columbus, Ohio. The building was torn down in the late 1990's and has been the site of Nationwide Arena (Columbus BlueJackets) for 18 years. Kind of tough to tour a building in 2016 that hasn't existed since 1997 don't you think?
I realize these shows are not real and take giant liberties but if you are going to try to sell this based on actual events, wouldn't you at least try to get the numbers right? They are clearly using events from different places to create a story that doesn't exist.
Mr. Brooks (2007)
Not bad. Not what I expected but Costner didn't ruin it like most of his movies.
Spoiler Alert* The best part of this movie is watching Dane Cooke being beaten to death with a shovel. I spent the entire movie hoping his character would be killed. It is actually a little personal with Dane. I went to one of his shows years ago and have wanted to off him in the same manner ever since.
Seriously, the Kevin Costner / William Hurt alter ego thing is interesting and keeps you interested in the movie. It carries some week writing and dull parts of the movie through. The twist with the daughter in the middle is good too. Overall the movie is decent but I think they could have used a lesser know actor to replace Costner and it would have been more interesting. Although, Costner didn't completely ruin this movie as usual. Maybe I am just soft on his character because I enjoyed watching him pawn Dane Cooke with the shovel.
I could have gone without Demi Moore too. She added nothing and they could have replaced her with an unknown and it would have been more believable. There was enough to keep you interested in the movie without her. It looked as though someone in casting owed her a favor.
It is a 6-7ish movie and William Hurt definitely makes it better.
Dark Legacy (2009)
This movie is for people who have lost their minds...
I don't know what to say. This 'documentary' is an absolute train wreck. I have seen cable access shows that were better produced and made more valid arguments. This 'documentary' proves the axiom that ANYONE can make a movie...
Now, I won't spend a lot of time breaking down the hundreds of logical errors and giant holes in the logic presented in this film. There are two reasons for this. First, there are simply too many to address. Second, the 'logic' behind those errors is so discombobulated that I would first have to explain their twisted reasoning, then point out the flaws. It would simply take too long.
I don't think this is really a spoiler but in a nutshell, this movie tries to tie the assassination of President John F. Kennedy to George Bush by tracing contacts all the way back to Adolph Hitler...
Do I need to go any further???
The problem with every single point in this film is that IT PROVES NOTHING other than the fact certain people high in government positions might know one another... Even that is a stretch in some cases. George Bush was head of the CIA, OF COURSE HE NEW ALLEN DULLES... I mean, really???? How could he NOT know Allen Dulles????
It is just silly beyond belief. The entire premise is that simply because people knew each other, they assassinated the president. It is the work of a person with POOR CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS made for people with the same condition.
Here is a short breakdown of who will like this movie. If you have any of the traits or conditions below, this movie is for you:
1. You hate the Bush family and are willing to believe that every single thing that happens on the planet is their doing.
2. You have poor critical thinking skills and tend to find correlation between people and events that don't exist because of your preconceived notions and thinking errors.
3. You believe literally ANY conspiracy theory, no matter how false or dense.
4. You have an associates degree in Sociology from any Community College in the United States.
5. You are a heroin/meth/coke addict.
6. You have suffered severe trauma to the head.
7. You are mentally retarded.
8. You smoke copious amounts of marijuana.
Otherwise stay away from this cinematic turd......
