leuke verhaaltje
15 February 2022
Loved the movie, as another reviewer wrote "feel good feel better" As a Dutch Canadian it was great to see a nicely acted movie in my native language... (with subtitles to aid me).

I think it was a well thought out and acted and filmed movie.

I especially loved "Oma"

Justin.

what happened to the subtitles
9 September 2021
I would love to write a proper review of this movie, if I know what was going on.

In the version I found there was no sound, and the only subtitles there were, were the dialogue between father and son. Found that very disappointing.

The movie looked very interesting but without the sound, or subtitles very difficult to follow.

incredibly slow moving

The premise of the story... Uncle Billy why have you kept this hat all these years?... was never really answered.

The story that I think they were trying tell, or at least advertised was only really told on the surface. You kind get that Billy falls in love with the farmers son... but there is so much else going on that the waters are so muddied with multiple plots that you are not really sure which plot is the real one if there is one. If I hadn't read that it was a story about a farm had falling in love with the farmers son, I might have just thought it was another of the plots that rambled through the movie.

And then there was the seemingly endless periods of dead scenes that didn't appear to have any purpose.

Sorry it could have been a good movie but it wasn't.

only two issues with the show
3 August 2021
We love this show have watched the entire series several times. It is one of those easy listening humorous detective shows. It is not a serious detective show, just a very pleasant show to watch... now to my issues 1. It ended... there should have been some kind of post retirement season or at least a special just to show Henry in his element and free of Fisher.

2. Probably our main objection ... Fisher never got his. He abused Henry, used him, blamed him for everything an anything that went wrong and always made sure he got the glory when anything went well. The man was a weasel. Perhaps the special could have taken care of that... at least the last episode should have dealt with the man.

Other than that we have loved the show and will watch it again and again....

cutsy film to watch...
15 January 2021
No academy performance that's for sure. Interesting and actually intriguing story line which could have been developed better, like have Ken actually show up again and be confronted by Dylan and Demetrius. I have to agree with some of the other reviewers that there was a lot of what I called dead air... scenes that really had no bearing on the story. I clearly missed the intent of the last several minutes of the movie with Dylan driving home, the scenes, the earth-movers, him smiling ,,, what was that all about? Lost on me, didn't make any sense. The older couple and the exchange between them and Dylan... to me not well done. They were too..too... and Dylan who is a visitor was downright rude... not well written for my taste. But all in all I liked the story will probably watch it again, and be annoyed again with the stuff that didn't work for me.

great story line... ending was a bit of a let down
18 July 2020
The premise and story concept was great The acting was good But the ending left a lot to be desired. We are supposed to believe that Benny's Mother goers from hateful, angry, grieving, to totally accepting and hostess of the year... well at least to Christopher. But the last contact with his mother not so much. we are left wondering if there was some reconciliation there or not, and if there was why was she not invited to dinner as well. Another 5 or 10 minutes of movie could have resolved some of those questions and made it a more satisfying movie. For me the ending spoiled the rest of the movie for me. Otherwise it was great

Excellent production

I dont usually go for documentary (type) movies but I am glad I watched this one. Very well done and presented. Excellent switching back and forth from 1950s to "current" interviews with Ernst and Robi I loved it

ok but...

Warning: Spoilers
Yeah... like one person said the movie grows as it goes along. The acting wasn't bad. The actors easy on the eyes. But I have to say the ending was very disappointing. There was no closure it really didn't end. Not at all satisfying one way or the other. Other wise I enjoyed the movie.

Waht a delightful story
3 June 2020
Having read most of the reviews, I'm almost embarrassed to say that I really enjoyed the movie. I will probably watch it again. Again as I have mentioned in other reviews of or the movies it is not academy award winning material but so what? It was to me a fun and pleasant movie to watch. It was feel good and it had a good story line. Did it have some issues like the plate that never emptied yes but it had a good enough plot, the acting was fine and it made me want to keep watching. I can overlook many things in a movie if it makes me want to keep watching and makes me feel good. And this one did that for me.

nice feel good story

Sometimes you just want a story that everything works out right. This is one of those stories. I have seen several other gay movies that have all of the angst and controversy and gay/antigay elements in them. That is fine because some stories need that. But sometimes I need just a 'nice' story where two guys finally find each other and it all works out in the end The acting was fine. Someone mentioned that perhaps Arye Gross was not the best person to play Henry and I might agree. Certainly Eric Schweig was perfect in his role as Pike I liked it, I will watch it again.

Enjoyable but with issues
21 March 2020
Have to say that on the whole I enjoyed this movie. It was certainly not blockbuster or Academy Award material but it was an enjoyable watch. (Let's be honest not all Academy award winners are worth watching either if that is what you were looking for) I guess the issue for me was the reasoning behind Gray's(?)argument that Ben should just accept his playing around because that's just the way he is, was a little ingenuous since he was not even willing to consider Ben's side of the argument or his feelings.

Other than that the movie was fun to watch. thank you for producing it.

poorly done
15 March 2020
I struggled to even give this move a 4. The basic story is intriguing, thought provoking and interesting, I will grant you that. But the movie was so poorly done!! the plot was completely disjointed as was the acting. Endless (it seemed) dead scenes of sites around Santorini etc. beautiful as it must be. The main character finds a filthy naked man in his grandmother's apartment. After the initial shock and shower then just goes back to bed and sleep. Like seriously? He easily finds out the origin of the naked man on the internet???? what on Google? He then just treats the man like a pet dog He doesn't seem to be the least bit concerned as to how diago got there behind the locked oak door. The whole move movie as it 'developed' was too bizarre. I have to say I was disappointed. The plot and story premise had such potential. the whole social, ethical question around human cloning, owning another human as a pet, the issue of cruelty/sadism but I think it failed.

Excellent portrayal of Romeo and Juliet
29 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I have read some of the reviews of this movie, and yes it would not have won an academy award, but so what? A movie does not have to be a cinematic masterpiece to tell a story well and this movie does just that.

The story concept and it's portrayal was excellently developed and presented by "Mike" and "Will" I've watched it twice now and will no doubt watch it again. My heart went out to both these young men and the agony they both were going through. The only highlight in their young lives was the love they briefly found in each other. As one of the other reviewers mentioned, I should have seen the end coming with the theme being Romeo and Juliet.

It is well worth the viewing.
