Animal (2023)
Just a loud headache inducing unrealistic theatrics
Yesterday I finally dared to watch Animal.
Credit where due- kudos to Cinematography. It was brilliant but thats the only thing worth admiring.
I say it as an unbiased audience- ek hoti buri film, this was YUCK CHEE ! It is one film which fills u with negativity and hopelessness with society.
Cant bliv they stylise such toxic protagonists in 2023. Ranbir was good but one tone. Just shouting expletives or blunt dialogues while all the side characters look at him in disbelief, thats how they have written the characters.
I m hopeless about the representation of women in this one. I realised that all the outrages from feminist organisations was genuine.
3 hrs of his absurd rudeness, needless arguments & shouting by the obnoxious protagonist in a braindead story without a purpose. Yet they show his as savage guy whom all women drool on and all men tolerate.
Also that alpha male narrative was puke inducing.
Tejas (2023)
A different and complete family entertainer
A lot of negative reviews I read are purely out of sheer bias against an actor's personality. Honestly that shouldn't matter if someone is actually a cinema lover.
I went along with my parents and had a fulfilling time after long. Brilliant story, execution, dialogues and performance. Kangana is the soul of any character she chooses and imbibes the spirit of it. Thats probably the reason she has survived for so long despite being in an industry unwelcoming of her. The vfx shots were a little amiss, but given the fast pace of aerial fights they weren't noticeable.
Such films restore my faith in Indian Cinema. Very well made in every aspect.
Chandramukhi 2 (2023)
A worthy sequel to a cult classic, Kangana is on fire
Kangana is queen of versatility. No actor has portrayed the range of characters which has has. I am glad she is back to our Tamizh cinema to enthral us with her remarkable craft.
This actor who not just uses her face but also her body language, walking style, laughs, weeping and voice differently in every role so effortlessly. Just in awe of her.
Vadivelu tickles ur bone so much in the 1st half. Raghav is massy and is great at his job. Laxmi is outstanding and matches the expectations of having to match with a great performer like Kangana. Mahima, Surbhi, Radhika r well casted.
Music is inarguably the best score produced by indian cinema this year by the maestro Kreem.
Total paisa vasool and a film which deserves to be as successful as its prequel. Chandramukhi 3 should be made soon, please dont wait for 17 years again AND PLEASE CAST KANGANA ! She is breathtaking.
Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022)
Total Letdown. Makers are inflating BO collections
I cant fathom what was the hype for.. Evident fake sets, overdramatic dialogues (in a brothel !! ), unnecessary mass moments and an overhyoped misfit lead actress. Alia seems to be trying really really hard, that it appears cartoonish. She couldnt balance between looking menacing and looking animated and her baby looks dont help either.
Shamshera (2022)
Terrible is an understatement
Nothing seemed admirable to me except for Vaani's sensuality.
Ranbir will never be criticised by media coz of his privileged roots but he was absolutely terrible. So was Sanjay, a replica of all his negative roles.
No story and juvenile VFX.
Shabaash Mithu (2022)
One note lead actress
Taapsee seems like performing the same role in various characters. She needs to work on versatility.
Unfortunately male actors can be bad actors and still be stars, women actors have to be talented... and with no range like Taapsee, one remains an overhyped PR showpiece.
Life in a Metro (2007)
Kangana Shilpa and the music stays with u
Its just unbelievable how brilliant this girl is. She doesn't just utter dialogues, she imbibes the soul of the character. It seems like she gets posessed, every part of her body acts. Ranging from voice modulation, eye movements, walking, hand gestures, body language and twitching of face muscles. As an artist She is a gift to Indian cinema.
The movie, direction and the performances make it a cult classic.
Gangster (2006)
Kangana is unbelievable
Its just unbelievable how brilliant this girl is. She doesn't just utter dialogues, she imbibes the soul of the character. It seems like she gets posessed, every part of her body acts. Naam Shabana (2017)
Taapsee is overrated
She just cant act. Even when it comes to action, u see a stiff robotic chick who is so weak that Akshay Kumar has to save her evrytime.
Pink (2016)
Brilliant film spoiled by female protagonist
Such a brilliant subject and star cast but why on earth u chose taapsee to be the lead ? She cant convey the pain, too masculine and stiff.
Manmarziyaan (2018)
TAAPSEE was unbearable
She was so masculine and unbearably loud that u wonder why these 2 guys r mad over this one.
Badla (2019)
taapsee needs to join acting school or retire
Same kind of acting in every film.
Big B is the saving grace. Amrita Singh was brilliant.
Mulk (2018)
TAAPSEE is a huge let down
Same stone constipated expressions and uttering heavy dialgoues.
Haseen Dillruba (2021)
TAAPSEE needs to work
This actress was good in manmarziya coz it related to her real life persona..
but she just cant do any other kind of roles. Good one dimensional acting isnt called a great performance, where is versatility.
Movie was boring, all build up for nothing much.
