Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed (2021)
A wonder of a man
I really was getting some kind of overemotional talk show vibes from time to time but I think most of us can agree that Bob Ross was truly a wonder of a man and thanks to this documentary for showing it. Though the suing part was not so interesting and the only thing that facinated me was how Steve lives up to his dad's name. I would recommend this movie because the story is just too beautiful.
Murder Among the Mormons: Episode One (2021)
What in the hell type of the business were you guys running?
This is my first crime documentary, so I do not have too much to compare with. I have already known somewhat about the course of the events from Wikipedia article, so the show should have dipped me deep in the history of Mormonism and document dealing. And I think "Murder among the Mormons" has done this job adequately, showing the underbelly and to some extent - motives of parties involved. News and interviews footage of those years is neatly woven into the narrative too.
Some things have remained unclear to me. "Why would you want to kill your counterparty's respresentative when you are about to have a deal?" - is probably one of the most intriguing questions I have after watching.
Also I want to note how absorbing are parts narrated by former Mark Hoffman's associates, undoubtedly intellegent guys.
Overall, it's good, but a bit confusing.
Behind the Curve (2018)
Shot me dead
This is just insanely well-done! Best inside story I've ever seen, kept me engrossed every second of it. I like how flat-earthers are not cast away unintelegent freaks in this film, they can love, resent, and they unequivocally have inquiring mind. But for me this film was not a revelation in the first place but a really witty comedy. Characters find themselves in such amazingly hilarious situations, I just can't help laughing! Thanks to everyone participating in creation of this masterpiece!
Fantastic Fungi (2019)
It is half advertisement, but maybe it is for the best
Even though majority of the film feels to be informercial, I enjoyed it very much. "Mushroom voice" was a bit strange and the feeling of disbelief would not leave me at some moments. But in the end, this Psilocybin thing is acknowledged by FDA and seems to truly help people. So I do not mind this to be informercial in order to spread the word. The story is touching enough and the visuals are just tops.
